I'll say it again 4 2 3 1

Is tosh

I see so much dross from people

Blame the strikers

Blame the players in behind the strikers

Complain when mata doesn't play even though it's exactly the same

All that is just cliche rubbish and none of you seem to actually watch our play

When we attack the front 4 are ALL ahead of play in the last quarter al we can do from there is play the ball into feet. These short passes leave little to know room for error. We rely on intricate passing to create anything. It doesn't matter who plays in those positions if there not all messi we are not going to create anything.

It's all far to static

We rely on individual brilliance which at the moment is not happening.

We need to play in space get in behind the defenders and utilize the pace we have in our team. To many times we try and play into feet and end up going backwards

That is is

We need to play 4 3 3 drop or sell the fair whether players like mata and build a strong aggressive midfield 3 with hazard any of the three strikers and schurrle or Willian get those wide boys running into space, running at defenders i guarantee that gets us points and we stop these types of results.

I hope that guarin comes in mata and KDB go out and we then are free to do this.

Buying a striker to play in this team and current set up is not going to work. Relying on any striker to bury his one chance in a game is too much to ask

Thats exactly it Darren because Ivanovic and Cole were never both brilliant at attacking and defending. They havent declined that badly. Its just we're using them a lot more now and we're seeing their ability on the ball is very poor.

Cashley, to me, appears to have declined as I think he was pretty good on the ball but now he's not.

Never really rated Ivanovic that highly as a right back. Has a decent cross and can tackle but when I watch him you can see he's a cb playing out of position as he just doesn't look that comfortable.

People really underestimate how important the full back role is to modern teams and being a solid defender isn't really enough for full backs at the top level, in my opinion.

hmm

i think ashley in the sense that his footballin brain is now set to low risk

he wont ever run forward and when he does and he recieves the ball, he'll miscontrol it

most of his passes are because he panics, runs back to near luiz or terry and gives it back to them

his football brain is gone.

Yeah that may be true. Knowing the reasons for a player's decline is quite difficult but I think he's visibly worse with the ball at his feet.

Contrast this with Evra, who has declined defensively, but is still one of the most comfortable players on the ball in the league.

We both need new left backs.

yeah definitely he's visibly worse with the ball at his feet

evra can still recieve the ball whilst making a forward

cole cant do this

he will miscontrol it most times and in any case, he doesnt even make the type of forward runs that forward players like.

I reckon if you get Luke Shaw you'll be fine at left back.

Darren I would say that Evra is still in fairly good nick. Ashley on the other hand does look past his best now and this probably should be his last season at Chelsea.

Just a shame that Bertrand hasn't pushed on or been given a proper chance.

As Biggish says in footballing terms we often seem to fancy the other bloke's bird when what we already have is good enough.

For me the obvious solution is play Bertrand at left back and move Azpi to his favoured right back position.

That way we would have two young and energetic players get up and down the flanks.

Fair points, Superb. Both look like decent full backs but don't seem to have been given much chance to cement their place.

Evra, in fairness, has been good going forward this season, he's been better than he has the last few years, but at the back he can still be dodgy as he's pretty lazy to get back after a marauding run.

He's out of contract in the summer as well so I think he might be off. Maybe to Monaco for a big pay day before he retires, plus he's a former player of theirs.

I wish we'd have just spent £27.5m on Baines instead of facking Fellaini.

@ Darren The King Fletcher (U10026)

Ivanovic is much more capable as a RB than as a CB. I would say he has only been poor there recently. We won the Double and Champions League with him playing as a RB, and he was brilliant when we won the former.

He still looks uncomfortable at right back because he's not very comfortable on the ball.

As I said, I've never really rated him that highly as a right back. He's done well there at times but I've never felt he was a really top class full back for the reasons I've stated - he's just not a very good footballer.
