Silva

end of an era and a sad way to go too. I have lots of respect for CW he showed what a true sportsman should be like maybe Rhonda could pick a few pages from his book. So long spider, you will be missed.

Weidmann wouldnt have lasted long against a young Anderson Silva, Sonnen showed how old the guy had got. Just like Cotoure and Chuck u can get old quick in then fight game. Silva relied on immense speed, accuracy and mad ability. However these are the first to go with age.

Imo Silva this a good and credible way to bow out, he was comprehensively beaten and inmboth fights he went down in a media frenzy fashion.

As for Weidman, Silva is a very hard act to follow as he took the sport to a new level. The sad thing was his lack of English because hemcould have become such a global star. Weidman is a nice guy, but he is dull as dishwater and has zero star quality.

As for his ability, he is a good fighter, however will he dominate the game? I cannot see it.

Like him or not the sport is worse off without the spider.

I have never had a problem with Silva the fighter/champion, I always had a problem with Silva the disrespectful pr!ck. And was so happy to see him loose his belt in the fashion he did......however that leg break is terrible and would not wish that type of injury on anyone. The above posters are correct in its a terrible way to finish his career, well I hope he makes the right desicion as at his age he will never get back to any where near his best - I could be wrong but if he came back after this it would be to a few loses on the trot and then deciding to quit which would really tarnish his record. A sad way to go and an end of an era because even after 5 rounds of having his head beaten in you always thought he could win.

And yeh Tate > Rousey, would happily get beaten up daily for a piece of that!

It's a shame Rousey is the womens champion, her attitude is appalling and the whole 'tough guy' shtick is cringey.

As with Lord VIK, I'm yet to be convinved by womens MMA. I'm all for the equality in the sport, but just don't think the standard is that great, yet.

Anderson a disrespectful 'pr1 ck'? Based on what? He is 9 times out of 10 very respectful to all of his opponents.

Are you basing that on the Demian Maia fight alone? Because its pretty strange to call the greatest of all time disrespectful.

However you put it jumping around like a monkey is very disrespectful, no matter how good you are. Just look at Tyson people nowadays remember him for biting an oppentents ear off rather than one of best heavy weights we have seen. Just 1 moment of being an idiot undose much good work. So yes I stick by disrespectful pr 1ck. But please feel free to talk about all my comment rather than cherry picking 1 piece to try and make a point.

I only cherry picked it because it was a stand-out comment, you called him a pr 1ck?

Jumping around like a monkey as you say isn't him being disrespectful (barring the Maia fight), its him trying to get in opponents heads and make them do something rash, he just came unstuck against Weidman. Anderson in interviews both before and after fights he is very respectful to his opponents.
