Huddersfield Town v Millwall
Saturday 11 January 2014, John Smith's Stadium, kick off 3pm
“His appointment certainly adds another element to the match, but we are the home side, and it’s down to us to dictate what happens, whatever players we are facing."
Mark Robins
Huddersfield Town face Millwall, who now have Ian Holloway in charge, the South London club had been managerless since Boxing Day. The Lions were tamed in their last match by Southend Utd, in the FA Cup, where they were on the wrong side of a 4-1 defeat. Millwall have only won one game in their last seven matches in all competitions. So, form has been poor, but now that Holloway is at the helm, maybe their form will improve. Town have only won two from their last seven matches, proving consistency is still an issue!
James Vaughan may return from a knee injury, according to Mr Robins, he is able to run comfortably, but he will not be risked if Vaughan's knee is not one hundred percent. It is a relief that Paterson knows where the goals are now and hopefully, he will continue his purple patch. Town fans have told the 'Examiner', that they want a striker, or at least an attacking player. Several players have been mentioned by the fans and the Examiner states, 'It ranges from the realistic to the ridiculous, Nahki Wells to Lionel Messi.' The wanted list seems to change by the hour!
Which player(s) do you want?
Norwood found the net with a free kick against Grimsby, we look forward to a few more from him. Scannell is playing well and has been causing defenders all sorts of problems. For me, Hammill must step up to the plate and improve his gameplay. Too often in the Grimsby he just ran at players and smashed the ball against the defenders. He must lay the ball off to his team mates too. Which brings me to Holmes, aka MJ, he did not have his best game at Blundell Park and seemed at a loss and vague. I would expect him to pick up in form and continue developing his game. He may just have been a tad under the weather. Clayton has improved too and Town need him to keep the midfield options open.
Dixon has been excellent, both defensively and going forward. Apart from another mistake, Smith is becoming quite an established defender. Smithies, as usual, has made some outstanding saves and has kept Town in matches. They may have lost more games without Smithies input.
Millwall will no doubt be up for this match, they have been struggling at the wrong end of the table. Holloway brings a mountain of experience and Mr Robins needs to be ready to select the right team to stop The Lions.
Feel free to add your 'lion, mane, den' comments in the same vein as the last match day thread.
Oh, I've got a great feeling about this one, Nahki Wells to score, two nil to Town!
***Update***
Nahki Wells put pen to paper and signed for Town for an undisclosed fee. I've read it was £1.3 million, sounds a fair price. It seems Bradford didn't want Southern, maybe a polite, thanks, but no thanks.
Lets have some feedback on this thread in relation to Well's first game for Town today.
Town are looking to sign Joe Lolley, from Kidderminster, Mr Robins has been scouting him. He's certainly looking to build a very youthful team!

Not great but not utterly sh-t Wethers. Haven't watched owt but I dislike one-day cricket immensely so it's hard to fart, let alone give a sh-t.
I just want them to rest, reflect, then figure out why god made then English, in time for 2015

Agree totally champers. Test cricket is the only form worth watching. What's all the fuss over Root, he fails miserably most times?

Doesn't he just! Always looks truly terrified by his surroundings too. I'd like to think he's got what it takes to be great, but I aren't too sure. Needs to puff his chest out and start dishing it back out.

And score some runs, he is very defensive minded, then gets out, yet all i hear is what a prospect he is !
