Yes, I find that extremely hard to believe. Whilst he is without a club now, surely he wouldn't drop from the Premiership to league 2. I am sure there are clubs at Championship level let alone league 1 level who would snap him up and pay decent wages.
You never know in football though do you.

I read that he is off to Leicester - with Bolton waiting in the wings if that falls through.
