They started work on their 2014 challenger earlier than any other frontrunner team.
They have an impressive technical package coming in from Mercedes that's considered the best in the paddock.
They have 2 incredibly talented drivers and a team of mechanics more motivated than ever to make amends for an awful 2013.
And now....
Ron Dennis has been brought back to take the job of CEO, replacing Martin Whitmarsh and putting his job as team principal under threat.
Things are looking up for McLaren

Ron should never have gone.
Max wanted him out as part of his revenge.
Whitmarsh is not good enough to run a F1 team. He should run something nice like a charity or hospice.

Just saw this as well. Exciting times at McLaren indeed. Alonso may be back in 2016 as well.
RedBull staff have also been poached by McLaren too and the return of Honda.

I hope McLaren and Ron Dennis do well in 2014.
I can recall MA, the forum fool, declaring that the 2013 McLaren was the fastest car in F1. This claim was made before the car was unveiled. MA, the forum fool, as usual, refused to accept any alternative view and to this day still refuses to accept that he was wrong.
MA, the forum fool, also declared that McLaren would not have a Mercedes engine in 2014.
Looking forward to more nonsense from MA the forum fool during 2014.
What next?
Australia qualifying will indicate which car is best?
What a fool.
