"The slump on the pitch has led to a slump for the club on the stock market. United's share price has fallen by 16% since Moyes was confirmed as their manager on 9 May. That has wiped almost £300m off the club's market value."
This quote is taken from the BBC sport site. I find it staggering that the loss of a few football matches could lead to such dip in value. The article also speaks of Soros selling his shares. You may remember he was the man who gambled against the government at the time of the ERM catastrophe which led to the recession in the early nineties - evidently a man in the know.
This may not bode well for this particular football club.

Not overly concerning as of yet tbh.
It doesn't seem to have effected our revenue streams if reports are to be believed then our new deal with nike will be looking at around 60 mil a year for the next five years and were constantly pulling out new deals.
Obviously long term it would have a negative effect however that's some way off.

I had a drink with someone who pupports to know about these things a while back. He told me that several hedge fund managers he knew were short selling United stock. He told me that it was down to the clubs financial structure - not the football. At the time I was too hammered to understand it, but it seems to have been true.

Let's all wait and see come the end of the season, as to what will happen. Should the rags fail to secure a Champions League spot watch the share price tumble even more. Then following that the big stars will all want to leave, as they will not be able to sign and star names for the club, to propel them back into the Champions League places next season

Or they will have to pay through the nose for those players.
Would the board trust moyes though?
