Despite what I read being said by the Manager I think that we need a striker. I think that 10 goals in the last 13 league games is proof that this is the case.
We have had a leaky defence throughout our time in the league and we relied heavily on scoring more than the opposition. Now our defence (and midfield) is strong and we need to hope that we can just score one goal in a game. Getting that solitary goal has at times looked laboured this season and sometimes it hasn't arrived.
I might be proved wrong and I really hope that I am. We have good attacking players and I am not sure why we haven't scored more.
What if we had this defence, this midfield and Calvin and Maghoma still with us and playing like they did last season? 20 points clear at the top?
Anyway, I shall sit back and wait for a striker to be signed before Saturday and then return with a home win prediction that has us scoring 3 or more.

The signing that I wanted hasn't happened yet. There is still time before the window closes.
I do not have access to the club balance sheets but I am sure that we have a reasonable budget considering 3 of our pre-season signings are no longer with us (Howe, Delap, Reed). Two of those I would guess were on the biggest salaries at the club.
Today might be a pivotal game in terms of getting someone in. Win 5-0 and the boss might say 'I knew the strikers would do it'. Draw a blank again and we may see someone in by Tuesday.
