Don't know if anyone else picked up on this but on transfer deadline day David Pleat was contributing on radio 5live.
He suggested that Forest had agreed a deal with Newcastle to sell Lascelles in the summer and our window signings were funded by this. Obviously hope it's not true. Pleat being an ex employee, although in a previous regime is sure to still have contacts within the club so might be something in it.
You'd like to see us retain the likes of Darlow and Lascelles and build a team with them in it for years to come.
The signing of Gomis was an intriguing one. Can't see him being involved with the number of centre backs we have but is he being nurtured for next season which might mean Pleat has got a point about the Newcastle thing?
If we were to sell Lascelles I'd imagine a fee of at least £7m. The £3m that was talked about in January was ridiculous. If you look at the £5m we got for Dawson 10 years ago, I'd say Lascelles has similar potential so at least £7m for me. Although as previously stated ideally keep him.
David Pleat / Jamal Lascelles

Sounds like Dorrans is coming in....

Coming? Are you sure you're not a closet red?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would my use of an everyday verb indicate my support for Forest??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You wouldn't say 'coming to you', you'd say 'coming to us'. Going to you would be more apt, as a 'supposed' Leicester fan!!! [says Inspector Hoons]

Why does any of this concern you? It just seems to

"sounds like Dorrans is coming in".....to Forest. The phrase is "coming in", can be used to describe you, we, it or whatever.
If I'd used the terms we or us then yeah you would have a point, but you're probably guessing by now that you don't.

Ah right, I still think we're a distance away then. Interest yes, but we've failed with him a couple if times already and their new(ish) manager may want him as part of the squad. We'll see

I think you'd have to clearly state that "you've got Dorrans coming in". The "you've", would have avoided the implication that you are, as Hoons quite rightly pointed out, a Forest fan.

No Dave, I wouldn't. I wouldn't have to clearly state anything. I could just use English and say 'Looks like Dorrans is coming in...', without it being read like 'oh hey, we're going to get Dorrans...no hang on, I mean you are....oh no I've given it away'

I might as well be, I'm banned by the Derby board and I read the evening post.
