Ian Black and Michael Moffat

Firstly I was glad to see some common sense applied to the case of Michael Moffat yesterday by the SFA. What distinction there was between him and Ian Black's case wasn't obvious to me and the fact that his ban was significantly more never seemed right to me. Still think he should have got the exact same ban as Black though as a precedent had been set.

When Ian Black was charged we seemed to get a flood of articles and comments from some Tic fans about the issue, any reason as to why there was almost silence from said Tic fans about Moffat?

My tuppence worth is that footballers not being allowed to bet on football in general is stupid. I can understand them not betting on their own games (complete no go) and to an extent games in their division/country but why can't footballers have a punt on the Arsenal v Man Utd game tonight for instance?

The second part of my article is about Ian Black. Noticed a divergence of position on the thread below about him this season and I have to say I think he has done nothing to justify his automatic pick status and I want to see him dropped and also want him transferred in the summer window.

I remember watching him at Ibrox destroy as after we had went into administration and then have a really good cup final game against Hibs and thought he could be a good signing for us considering we would need someone who could be robust in midfield. I still thought he was a cockstub and couldn't get over his challenge to Jelavic but as we signed him he should be backed.

I think he was poor last season and this season whilst there is an improvement I don't think there has been enough to justify his automatic pick status. I think he slows down our play, has a tendency to want to try and play the Hollywood ball, struts about like a peacock as if he is something when in truth he is Rafael. I think he inhibits Laws game and to me he is stopping Lewis McLeod from playing in the central midfield position that he should be getting played in.

I don't like the way other players don't back him up when he is targeted but overall I don't think he does enough and I think he holds us back.

On the basis that he probably has similar package to Sandaza of increasing wages as we move up the divisions and will probably be getting close on 10k per week in the SPL I don't think this is the best use of our resources as well.

His red card at Dundee Utd and subsequent reaction really annoyed me last year and I don't think I will ever forgive him for betting against his own team whilst playing for them but I have tried to give him as much of a chance as I can but I don't think I am ever going to be convinced he is a good player and good for my club.

Laudrup, it's because Black plays for Rangers and Moffat doesn't.

We are not interested in winding up Ayr fans, we are however interested in winding up Rangers fans. It's called rivalry.

In the same way that we had plenty of articles from you on Amsterdam but we heard nothing from you guys about the Egyptian stadium riot a year earlier which killed 74 people.

Do you not have any rivals Laudrup?

Or do you love all fans equally?

I don't mind Black, but agree he shouldn't be an automatic starter. I don't think any player should be though. Regarding the betting, he's a díck for betting against his own team, but so long as he's not crooked and doesn't do it again, I can forgive him and chalk it up to him being a bit of a díck.

I've been a bit more concerned about Law sitting deeper rather than pressing forward like he did earlier in the season.

Betting on games you are involved in or not involved in to me isn't an issue. Example:

here you go doll gona put £500 on us to win tonight?

Mrs Black replies nae bother

Bet on game placed indirectly but with no major issues involved.

The issue is the stupidity of the player in doing something ILLEGAL they deserve everything they get!!!

fantastic article mate and I cant argue with one point in it

the best parts being him slowing down our play and the rest of the team not backing him up when he is targeted

I can't quite believe how little the club made of the Black issue.

For me betting against your own time (Severl times as well) is just unacceptable. It should be instant contract termination.

On the subject of betting, I have no problem with players betting as long as it's not their team/division.

Don't rate Black as a player either. He's next to useless. A teenage McLeod is head and shoulders above him, it's a crime he's automatic pick and holding back McLeod's development.

I personally think that a lot of people's standards were either lost or lowered when we went into division 3

even mccoist admitted so himself, he looked like a fakin tramp last season wi his trackie on and 2 hats, aye 2 fakin hats when we beat Peterhead 1-0 away

thankfully he has started to wear the official club suit again
