Hyped up!

Champions League is back! The best competition in the world due to the high quality of football and the general excitement.

Tonight's match, I think everyone is pretty much thinking this as a 'luxury' game, meaning that we don't stand much of a chance to go through but we can enjoy this game anyhow. I much rather Arsenal be facing Bayern than sitting on their bums watching other teams play in this glorious competition.

We have improved quite a bit since the first leg last year, whilst many feel Bayern aren't quite at that maximum level of last season. But still good enough to claim they are the best team on the planet.

Champions League isn't always straight forward, it brings the best out of every player, especially the world class ones. I expect them to dominate possession create few clear cut chances at will. But at the same I do think we can hold our own here. A 0-0 would be like a victory. This will give us a great opportunity to cause a shock in return leg. However they will score.

I just hope the players give a good account of themselves tonight, there's no pressure on Arsenal. All the pressure in on Bayern.

OP There is a lot of pressure on Arsenal, as it is the first leg of a tie in the Champions league, a competition you aspire to win. You make it sound like it is Telford United having a day out at the Etihad, happy to take the inevitable Man City Demolition. Your attitude embodies the culture of 'doing alright but not winning' that Mr Wenger has embedded at Arsenal over the last 10 years or so.

Champions League ties are decided on thin margins, you can get away with a lot more in the Premier League and still win games. At this level it's ruthless- even something as simple as someone missing a good chance can change the whole tie and you're out.
