Media going into overdrive with their BS
Sanogo played very well, we were the better team until the red, would have easily got something if it was 11vs11 for the whole game.
We defended very well, too, for the majority of the game. Thought Robben was given far too much, but seriously, 10 men against the European Champions and people are surprised that we're getting rings run round us.
Thought Arsenal's approach of trying to keep it to 0-1 was spot on and I can't fault them for that.
And for the people, not just on here but as a wider thing, saying that we would have got a result with a new striker are talking absolute BS. Sure, he may have taken the penalty and scored it... But how the hell is anyone up front meant to do anything with a midfield that's getting overpowered?
Everyone's a reactionary fúck. The first half was resolute and one of the best performances this season when you consider the opposition and the fact that the media are saying we've 'blown it' is disgustingly sensationalist. This team will win the champions league bar a small miracle, they're much better than Barca and Madrid, and we were equal, if not better, until we were a man down. This shít just happens. You have to move on.
Well done to the fans, great atmosphere and we need more of that in future games.
PS - For those who bemoan us not bringing on Podolski... He just can't defend. He's not the player you bring on when down to ten, pure and simple.
PPS - 'Ozil is crap, he'll never be good for us' - Mertesacker's first season?

Some fans are just miserable sóds! A great team effort, fantastic fans!! what an atmosphere! Ozil worked hard and is being used as a scapegoat for no good reason. Overall, a night to be a very, very proud gooner!!

I believe if Podolski was on he would have taken the penalty but ifs and buts make no difference after the game. We lost but showed more character then many media outlets and fans are saying. SKY did us proud, they commended our effort....some just laughed at us....

By forget about the CL I assume you mean we rest key players for the 2nd leg and play a team that will likely get smashed by 5/6 at the alianz so it can damage our confidence?

I was surprised Ozil took the pen, but no Arteta or Giroud, so he is next nominated taker. Personally bearing in mind Ozil's last pen I would have let Wilshere or Ox take it

No I didn't say play a weakened team. However, the tie is virtually over.
We have Everton 3 days before this and we need to field our strongest team for this.
