Europa League, where do Spurs

have to finish in the league to qualify for next season`s tournament. Very important to secure Europa League for next season, as Spurs are now unlikely to finish top four, with the added incentive of winning the trophy means gaining qualification to the following season`s CL. I think top six should be enough, is this correct?

I'd rather European football than no European football. Let's face it we stand a better chance of winning the EL than the CL. Even if we do qualify how far would we get with Tim Sherwood? I'd feel happier in the Cl with Van Geel.

Spurs have to be in the Europa League, it`s no brainer, much easier task of attaining CL, why slog through 38 games in the prem, when you can play half of those games and still qualify, and a team could lose plenty in the EL and still win the tournament. The group games in the Europa are pretty well gimmees, so maybe playing a dozen games against half decent sides in the knockout rounds, and you don`t even have to win all the games, just make sure you qualify through each round, is all Spurs would have to negotiate to gain a CL place. It is not rocket science to see which is the easier route to get CL.

It concerns me that we have 7 matches in March and we might be too knackered to beat Benfica which I think on form we can do.

yes but those Europa League games are played in addition to the 38 league fixtures, so its not really one versus another

Qualifying through the league we obviously have tougher opposition, but you can afford a few defeats in the league and still qualify (eg Spurs losing to Wolves home and away in 2009/10). One loss in the Europa League and it could be curtains.

Lets worry about the Chelsea game this Saturday first. 6 points behind could more or less. My money is on more due to our record at the bridge.

It couldn't be more as arsenal aren't playing in the league his weekend

My bet is it will be still 6 points

I hope we do not qualify for it, we have more chance of finishing top four next season without EL distractions than we do of winning the EL
