World T20 Cup 2014 Final - India V SL

Both sides have huge incentive in the final. India chasing a grandslam while SL have to brush off this final choker tag as well as providing a fitting end to Sanga and Mahela T20 career. Dilshan will probably play his last tournament too.

My team of the tournament:

1) Amla
2) Myberg
3) Kohli
4) AB
5) Duminy
6) Dhoni
7) Sammy
8) Narine
9) Santokie
10) Mishra
11) Tahir

don't really post much on here on the football threads.post on mainly Liverpool forums.. on here its not about football chat its about wumming another teams forum..

Agree England, the amount of wumming that goes on in football threads of Ja606 is a joke... Liverpool have a realistic chance now. If you boys beat city and then manage the nerves and pressure- you should be home and dry.

Adot, we've had off-field issues. Now sorted, Cellino has taken over and things can only get better from here- expecting big things next season... It's not like villa are getting away from us, mid-table wobblers, always have been always will be

Well done Sri Lanka, delighted they beat India

Am on a bit late but I was genuinely delighted with Sri Lanka beating us to an extent as I felt Mahela and Sanga definitely deserved a world cup win under their belt after their extraordinary services to Sri Lankan cricket over the years.

As for the game itself I never like apportioning blame on to players but Yuvraj was poor. He struggled to rotate the strike and ultimately when he got out had wasted the 21 deliveries where a more in form player would have upped the momentum and game in India's favour. However take nothing away from Malinga's death bowling which combined with Sri Lanka's fielding in general was excellent.

Nevertheless I fear as the Indian media may essentially end Yuvraj's career here as I have said it in the past and will say it again - a lot of us are very fickle and forget the good times when we lose. The mentality of the whole country has to change before we can move forward not only in cricket but on a world level in general. Stop the bitterness towards each other as some comments on here are mind boggling. Love and enjoy the game regardless of what area of the world your from and whatever country you may support.

Agreed Kev. TBH I think we will really need the services of the likes of Gambhir and yuvi in the next wc. he did look in awful form but, he has time to improve quite alot.

Having seen the likes of rohit sharma and some other young players I dont think they have it in them to do well in pressure situations. Champions trophy is one such example. I mean we won it, but more than anything England bottled it. Gambhir and Yuvi have so much experiance of playing good knocks.

I think personally for the WC we should go with:
Dhawan, Gambhir, Kohli, Yuvi, Raina, Dhoni, Jadeja, Ashwin, and three pacers. We still dont have 3 pacers for those conditions as proven by the odis in SA and NZ earlier this year.

Gambhir has the knack of playing really well in big matches and it will do India good if he came back into form.

Not too sure on Gambhir if I'm honest. He does like the big occasion but far too often in games his decision making has been poor to say the least. I don't think he has improved his "bat hang" outside the off stump especially against the swinging ball where he was very weak.

Yuvraj is another one who's future may be up for question if he fails to perform in the next few series' India play. Personally I feel India simply lack the bowling firepower to challenge down under for the world cup. We lack a premium fast bowler who can get us an important breakthrough at the start and end of the innings. Varun Aaron is the only Indian bowler who I can think of that consistently bowls 145+ but is woefully inexperienced and not the man we need. Zaheer's years are numbered and we all know about Ishant's woes in this Indian XI. I don't worry about our batsman though as there was more than enough evidence in that recent NZ series despite the loss that they can adapt.
