All this "we said, they said" bollox......has the idea of "written confirmation" become outdated? Surely somebody somewhere was taking minutes at a meeting, or confirming arrangements in writing, or doing instant email confirmations etc etc. I can't believe we are all relying on what someone thought someone else said! I can't believe such an important meeting/conference call/whatever broke up without all parties being absolutely certain as to what had just been agreed.
All in all this has turned into an an undignified shambles and, on this occasion, I'm inclined to believe the authorities' version of events. Methinks Master Thompson is making a t*t of himself

rock, im being serious
this time 2 years i was convinced my club was going to exist at all, to go through what we did in amosnst all the vitriol hatred etc, to win a SC withing 2 years would be amazing
even more so with it being at parkheid
even better
ive seen us clinch a treble at parkheid, win the league at parkheid, win league cup at parkheid (twice)
winning the SC on your rivals patch is brilliant
it really would be up there for a lot of Rangers fans

Would you give McCoist credit for it if you do win it?
This game will be Rangers first proper test all season and since the last time you played Dundee Utd. The only way I see Rangers winning the game is because it's at Ibrox to be honest. If it was at Tannadice I would see it being the same outcome as the last time. I watched both Albion games and it was awful stuff.
Anything can happen in a one off game though eh.

i would, i would just be acting a dobber if i didn't,
ill put this on record that although it wouldn't happen if we did win the SC i would still want to replace manager or at least remove his two assistants and bring in freshness that way

"So why would anyone have an issue with giving Utd the opportunity to attempt to sell the allocation."
I'm not an Ibrox season ticket holder, but if I was, and I couldnt get a ticket from the initial allocation becasue they were all snapped up by fellow season ticket holders, I wouldnt be too happy at the prospect of having to wait for Dundee United to "try" and sell an unprecedented number of tickets for a cup semi final, only to see them fail to do so, as expected, and then scramble to get a ticket and and get travel arrangements all sorted and all that in the week prior to the game.
It makes no sense

If D.U, do want a fair allocation, then they should be given it. If they think they can sell 25k then give them 25k to sell. If they don't sell them, then the SFA can hold the semi final with empty spaces in the stadium, or give Rangers whatever is left.

"If they don't sell them, then the SFA can hold the semi final with empty spaces in the stadium."
Thats of no use to either club
The gate gets halved, so United get more money if the stadium is full, even if it is Rangers fans.
A full stadium is also better for the SFA, for the competition and for everyone involved.
Cant believe the number of people advocating holding onto tickets until the last minute, on the extremely off chance that United might get close to matching their once in a decade cup final appearance attendance levels, when they didnt even break 15k for a semi against Celtic last season....its utter lunacy!!

Just found this

United fury at the SFA for not relasing tickets early enough.
Here they are now wanting the SFA to hold off on giving tickets to Rangers fans, on the off chance United fans might snap them up...delaying and hindering Rangers chances of shifting all the tickets they could
You couldnt make this stuff up!!
