Couple of potential targets for next season

With chat of improving the team, I had a look at some of the better players available on a free transfer at the end of the season who may be attainable for us. Obviously I have ommitted some of those in the premiership etc, but think the following guys would be realistic in terms of our budget and appeal. Not saying I would sign them all, but just who is likely to be being put to our management team and who they might have their eyes on. Who would you take?

Aberdeen - Robson, Anderson, Vernon, Maginnes
Dundee United - Gunning, Gomis, Dow
Hearts - Hamill, MacDonald
Killie - Boyd, Eremenko, Nicholson, Fowler, Barr
Motherwell - McFadden, McManus, Lasley, Hamill
Partick - Sinclair, Osbourne, Mair
Ross County - pretty much the whole team
St Johnstone - Davidson, MacLean, Hasselbaink, Cregg, Croft, Miller
St Mirren - McGowan, McLean, Thomson, Teale, Kello, Goodwin, McGregor

Given we will be in the championship next year I think we need to look at players who would be not only good enough to get us out the division but who would then be good enough for the top level.

I like Robson at Aberdeen and maybe the type of player we could do with if he was 10 years younger, but too old I think now. Gunning at United could be a good signing, Boyd perhaps worth a second go? He would score goals for sure whatever level we were at. At Partick the boy Sinclair has been linked with a few teams including Celtic, could be a good option at left back to eventually replace Wallace, used to always like Murray Davidson but he has knocked us back a couple of times now and not sure he is any better than what we have. At St Mirren Kenny McLean would be worth looking at, good young midfielder box to box and scores goals.

With regards to Graham Wallace's review I suppose it's all going to come down to how much can we afford to pay on wages. Dont get me wrong still want to see half descent players being snapped up but obviously within our required budget. Dont think we shoulf be paying anyone over £5-£6k a week imo

No to Holden, he's had too many knee injuries, and is currently injured just now. Good player, just too unreliable.
