Easdale libel case resolved

'RANGERS director Sandy Easdale has resolved a £200,000 libel bid against a fan.

The Ibrox tycoon had threatened to sue supporter Craig Houston over alleged online slurs.

The pair were due to go head-to-head in the courts but last night Mr Easdale said they had settled their dispute.

Mr Easdale, 45, said: “I had a long discussion with Mr Houston in private to sort the issue out.

“As far as I am concerned the issue has now been put to bed."

The row began when derogatory comments were posted on Mr Houston’s Rangers site which is called Sons of Struth.

Greenock bus tycoon Mr Easdale — who has pumped millions into the club along with his director brother James — demanded compensation.
He had vowed to take his claim to the Court of Session in Edinburgh.

Last night dad-of-two Mr Houston said he signed a confidentially contract with Mr Easdale after Tuesday’s meeting.

He fumed: “I am shocked that this has been spoken about. I do not wish to comment."'
