So most people seem to think that these guys didn't play particularly well last night. I actually thought Buttner offered a much more balanced display than Evra has of late. Is he as good as Evra in his prime? No, but on this seasons form I would much rather have him in the team and not leave massive holes in defence.
Fellaini has been pretty poor for us since signing from Everton but I thought he put in quite a hard working display and certainly added some steel to our midfield which with the second half introduction of Kagawa I thought they performed quite well and deserved that result.
Having thought we would have been well beaten I can see a little glimmer of hope after such a bad season.
Thoughts?

If I remember correctly.
It was evras fault we got knocked out by bayern before.
Didn't they get a really scrappy goal in the first leg cos evra was out of position or something.
Also robbens volley, great as it was, a player of his calibre should not be allowed about 10-15 seconds to line up a perfect volley with the ball dropping about 40 foot from the air, probably evras fault again.

Sort of. It was his mistake that led to Bayern going ahead 2-1 in Munich, and also to Rooney's ankle injury.
But we had the game sewn up at OT just before half time and then went to sleep and let Bayern back in it.

Fellaini is always going to get a lot of flak from the fantasists on these boards. Mr Moyes' first major signing (even though he was linked when SAF was there), looks that make him stand out a bit, not bought in from a European league (always an issue with some numbskulls).
However, even though he has yet to hit his peak, he has outperformed most of those that were already accepted by the fans before he arrived - you know the ones I mean, I'm not repeating myself. Time and more appearances will tell as always.
As for Buttner, he has yet to convince me either way. I'm not so down on him as most are. I like to make my, more accurate, judgements using my own eyes & experience, and over a proper time period. He may be alright, he may be great, he may even be awful, but he is still a better at left back than Rafael is at right back, and I don't see many people pointing his failings out.
Image is so important to these fantasists.

Fellani vs cleverley
When we buy our new cms in the summer and there is only room for one of the following who would u sell
Fellani has shown zero promise ,cleveley was once promising and showed sign of being a decent squad member.

Anyone that thinks Fellaini hasn't shown any promise is either stupid or is biased against him.
Pretty sad really. I wonder when the concept of honesty died on these boards.

Promise at what? The guy isn't going to get any quicker or get passing ability.

Yawn, I'm sorry you don't like Fellaini. But he's a United player. Try supporting him. He does have talent and passing ability but jackals like you just harp on all day and night about rubbish.
Try actually watching games rather than compile dossiers in which to attack players that play for your own team.

I've generally stuck up for Fellaini and still think he can be a good player for us, but he was dreadful last night.
Aside from his passing, he just seems so weak for his size. No physical presence at all. What has happened to the marauding, bullying, goalscoring powerhouse we saw at Everton?
