Good win today, and some very good performances in the "cup final dress rehearsal "
One standout performance was by the loveable German prankster, Lukaz Podolski. Not always the first name on the team sheet, Podolski has taken advantage of a run in the team. Two two goal performances from him this week highlights his quality of sticking the ball into the net.
His first goal today was delightful. As soon as he shaped to hit it he knew it was going straight into the bottom corner.
However, soon after his 2nd, the commentators were suggesting his performance enhanced his claims to play as Arsenals striker. For me it did the opposite, it in fact showed why he is best from deeper. He is best at working off knock downs and knock backs, finding spaces, and making late bursts into the box. At Cologne he was at his best as a second striker, and he has never really been adept at playing the focal point of the attack.
With the likes of Özil and Cazorla filling the #10 role to is unlikely Podolski will find an opportunity to play in his best role, and the wide left position is the best he can hope for.
I think Lukas, and those pushing for him to be the main striker, need to accept this. Today, and Tuesday, show why left attacking midfield is the best starting place for Podolski.

yeah great display by him but he needs the right players around him that create the right type of footie best for his game.
Ozil and Ramsey were a class apart today they both gave us so much more attacking impedance.

Pod showed today why he should have to stay at Arsenal.

Podolski showed today and over the last few weeks that contrary to the opinion of some, he has plenty to offer and it would be crazy to sell him.

Spot on
While you should expect someone who religiously watches every Arsenal game (like yourself) to know more about the team and the players than someone who only does it occasionally for work... it would be nice to listen to a pundit who doesnt just lazily follow the bays of teenagers on twitter
