Byron Webster

Yeovil Town.
27 years old.
Defender.
Is one of a number of Yeovil players expected to leave on the back of the club's relegation.
Out of contract this season so will cost nothing.

Apparently we're gonna put in a bid for him.

Thoughts?

Pearce has been very good all season, different player to what he was last year.

Harrogate, if he's been very good then how come we have conceded so many goals?

He might have looked better than some others in defence, but because he looks better than Lees (at times) doesn't make him a good player.

We spent a lot of money on him compared to other players over the years and he's not turned out to be the bargain prem quality buy that many raved about.

I don't think in the 2 years he's been here that we've heard of any interest from any other clubs for him.

Certainly not an example of finding a gem at a relegated club, especially at 500k.

I wanted us to sign Pearce but don't want us to sign this guy. Think we should be after better players. Don't think this guy would be an improvement on what we've already got

Pearce would be snapped up pdq should he be shown the door. He would have plenty of clubs after him.

Lets just iron one point out, Pearce has looked better than Lees at every single point of the season.

He would've looked better than him if he was playing with both his feet tied together.

Pearce has been one of the bright spots of a dull and miserable season. I didn't think he was a good signing and he had a largely indifferent season last time around.

He needs a good partner in the middle. Age old problem for us though, never quite find two that can knit together.

gelderd, didn't realise you rated Lees so highly!

He's a strange player is Lees, just when you think he's maturing & he's learnt from his previous mistakes, BANG, he's back to the drawing board.
Still not sure whether it's down to confidence or simply natural born talent & that he won't ever be good enough.
I just can't fathom him out!

I'm going to see what all the fuss is about now, he's defending against Brighton.

He'd fit in well. Concedes goals as a defender and ends up being played out of position...!
