Are both Gilroy and Walker 'without clubs' or, put another way, unemployed?
I take it that Ellison is still with us and his move to Southport fell through.
Gilroy, Walker and Ellison

Dont know the whereabouts of the three aforementioned guys, but I would like to pay some sort of tribute to Keith Gilroy and Richard Walker. It was inevitable that they had to go, but its a shame because they both possessed talent, but didn't really apply it often enough.
Keith Gilroy looks to me like either Ant or Dec (dont know who is who) and looks too boyish to be a footballer. The Irishman was not perhaps the typical speedy winger but he could pass defenders, and was a
good passer of the ball, and deadball specialist. I liken him to a cross between John Robertson & Alan Hinton.
An absolute wizard in the Blue Square, you would have expected him to have made the transition to league football easily. Unfortunately he started the league campaign injured, remained injured for most of the time, and given a significant chance to get back into the team, didn't seem to really apply himself.
Richard Walker has always seemed to be the 3rd striker in a number of different situations. His hold up play was excellent, and I seem to remember a couple of games in the autumn/early winter of last season when his hold-up play and the way he brought other players into the game was really good, and linked up particularly well with Shaun Harrad. I liken him to a sort of John O'Hare.
The departure and arrivals of different strikers didn't give him much opportunity to make an impact as he often came on as a late substitute. Lacking a bit of pace, and maybe a bit of passion, the lack of goals conspired against him, but I dont feel he had much luck
either.
So good luck to Keith & Richard
Also good luck to all past Players. We are not Philistines, but appreciate the contribution of past players, the skills of the opposition, and love this beautiful game we call football, as well as passionately supporting the Brewers !
Glad to see a section in the programme devoted to how ex-Brewers are getting on. Players leave for various reasons, I think the majority who left did so on reasonable terms. I remember one of my first "efforts" on 606 was to praise Guy Branston's performance for Torquay, and to condemn the "boo-boys"
Guy Branston , Shaun Harrad and Russ Penn are likely to be back at the Pirelli this season, lets show our appreciation and respect for them, whilst hoping they end up on the losing side.
Otep, I realise that you threw your original piece in to get more info and/to promote discussion, I've probably taken it off in a different direction, but being sensibly analytical, you probably agree with a lot of what I say, and this is no criticism of your original article.
Sorry if I've gone on a bit!
For the here & now, with Tom Parkes out long term &
Stanno supposedly having an op, do we put our faith in Rhino, or our No7? Can we go for a loan signing?
If so who?
C'mon you brewers!

My recent post re' Calum Davenport might not seem so far-fetched now!
There's a lot of good young CB's coming through in the Championship and Premier League, so getting someone in on loan shouldn't prove too problematic for the manager. Likewise, there's a hell of a lot of experienced players still without contracts.
Wonder what Buxton is up to these days....

I couldn't agree more BrewerDave. I hate it when former players get booed upon their return. There is a time and place for that sort of reception - for example manipulative players who end up in a pathetic dispute with the club because of money or who are pretty much refusing to play. Luckily that sort of behaviour is generally confined to the Premier League from the sort of players who have egos and / or agents that are out of control.
To my mind Harrad, Penn and Branno cared 100% when at the club and they gave 100%. For that they will earn my respect.
I must disagree to an extent about Gilroy. There was a point in the promotion season when I think he 'lost it' (and for part of the preceding season too). It may have been an injury or a lack of confidence. He seemed to become even more lightweight than he already was. He was slower, less able to take anyone on and seemed almost scared on the ball. He resorted to running into blind alleys and diving / looking for free kicks.
