Calling all TOWN fans !

3 ex-Players.
1 ex-manager, player & Club captain, &
an appeal from Bobby Ham !!

Glennon & Senior along with Jon Worthington, All involved in a huge game tonight !
Peter 'jacko' Jackson..No introduction needed there.
And club director Bobby Ham ....Calls on all local teams supporters to get darn the Shay tonight & cheer 'em on in the 1st leg of the play-off tie.

Who's going then ?
17 quid I believe, pay on the gate

Chelsea v Athletico...Pah! 'record it'
Why this game couldn't have been played Tuesday or even Thursday (as the 2nd leg is on Sunday) is beyond me. The FA have given no consideration to these lower league sides who need all the help they can get.

manager Aspin has called on all those who attend to 'make some noise, because it does give the lads a lift'
And there is this amazing 'choice' for those fortunate enough to be there..where by you can 'Stand' or 'Sit' without ridicule either way
Now there's an idea ,

PS... It's not on Setanta Walt.. So I'll be on the BBC updates, & reading your comments on the FAX v Cam United match thread

Can anyone remember the first game of the season?

Cambridge 5-1 Halifax
Fax were 1-0 up and then had 2men sent off all before 22mins had been played.

This week is the time for revenge!

COME ON THE SHAYMEN!

Already getting the pre match nerves. Just hope the players are bang up for it.

I'm predicting a 3-1 win for the Shaymen.

Since they are a "Yorkshire" club I want the Shaymen to win but I just can't see it, simply because Cambridge have only conceded 35 goals all season (46 games) and only Champions Luton can match it.

So, I can't see beyond a 1-1 draw at best, same as the league match score earlier in the season, so there will be everything to play for in the second leg at Cambridge.

Having said that, I've a sneaky feeling that Cambridge will edge the return match 2-1, which will be much closer than the 5-1 tonking suffered by the Shaymen in their earlier league encounter.

So, sorry to all you supporters because I reckon it will be another season in The Conference for the Shaymen

PS: I'm an absolute "crap tipper" - so lets hope nothing changes.

Mirf...much respect for the opinion & analysis ...

(I'll be on the FC match thread BTW ,ok>

This is a real Dave v Goliath encounter though as far as Conference football goes.
The Shaymen are all part timers, And will all have been at work today...they last saw each other & trained on Monday night.
Cam United are one of the 6 sides in this league who are full time.. So in that context, The Shaymen have done remarkably well to even be in this position after only being promoted last season...
Chester were the Champions in the same league as Halifax last year..& look what sort of a season they have had..

I 'feel' for Halifax, Because as 'Sir Ken Bates' points out...3 promotions in 4 seasons already..Aspin must be an exceptional manager working wonders on a very limited budget.

Early season Town couldn't win away from home.
This issue has now been addressed.
plus the Two cards at the opening game of the season..which saw Town play 69 minutes with 9 men.

Recent results have seen the Shaymen beat Grimsby away (1-0),,no mean feat in this league.
And a 2-0 victory over Champions Luton last month.

It's all to play for.

As for 'beauty sleep' LV
I think scaffold & renovations might help more than 'sleep' in acquiring 'George Clooney' looks

although ...the, black, calling & kettle come to mind

Well done Halifax - Can't knock a win because all they have to do now is not lose in the return fixture and Wembley will be their prize.

So since I'm still a "Crap Tipper" I reckon The Shaymen will now lose 2 -1 in the return fixture and miss out on the final, following a tense penalty shoot out.

Morning Darn!

Great result for Halifax, one nil, though a late goal and a penalty to boot for Gregory.

Well done the Shaymen. I hope they have some more goals in them, as Cambridge will be fired up for the return leg at their ground.

Proof Reader,
Nope - If aggregate scores are level 30 mins extra time is played and if the scores are still level the tie is settled by penalties.
