In January he said this Stuart;

“You don’t want to make a knee-jerk reaction and make the wrong decision for your family. I’m very settled here, we’ve moved to stay in Derby, and I’ve loved every minute of it since I’ve been at this football club.

“The knee-jerk reaction says that you want to go somewhere and play football, but then 24 hours later, someone gets injured and you’re called upon.

“You just need to keep going, and you don’t want to make the wrong decision just to try and get games.

“We’ve got something brewing here that I want to be part of, and hopefully in the next month or two, I can do that.”

Fast forward a couple of months and he arrives at Northampton, says he feels 'wanted' and by all accounts was going to sign for them even if they got relegated.

Based purely upon my summary I think it is a row and a falling out Stuart. It's all very 'Rene Howe'.

But don't blame the Manager. For all we know Zander might have been out of order in whatever he said or did.

i suspect it was a falling out ,we will never know now but i still get annoyed at some of the ins and outs at this club ,play offs being put to oneside . I personally dont think we are as good as the last campaign , and would love to have to eat my words ,maybe its the nerves getting too me already ,i just know a Zander Diamond in my back four tomorrow would have been my prefered choice .
