Greg Dyke's proposal has really got me riled. Does anybody actually agree with him?
Just another example of the greed league taking advantage of the poorer clubs!

Perhaps the state of English football and not being able to restrict the number of EU nationals, should form the cornerstone of UKIP's propaganda.

That or the UK's lack of success in the Eurovision Song Contest in recent years. What a load of carp that is.

Why píss about with this proposed halfway house, let's go the whole hog and disband all football clubs below 7th in the Premier League.
Then those clubs left could go all the way down the alphabet to xyz teams if they want.

That's an interesting point actually Tamwolf. If we were to have a referendum on Europe and we opted out, the Premiership would presumably by in deep doo doo.
I've never been a eurosceptic but i may have just changed my mind!

Just another foundation for the euro super league perhaps.
These B teams will end up being A teams when the big boys run off to a super league against Europe's elite maybe?

Just a stepping stone. Once this is accepted - and the torch burning traditionalists have put their pitchforks down - they can hit you more easily with the next phase of their masterplan:
The A teams of the top 5 clubs go into the Euro Super League, whilst their B teams keep the flag flying at the top of the Premiership.
Man Utd
Man City
Arsenal
Chelsea
Liverpool
Best of both worlds for the Elite

Sounds far fetched, but such is the fap in wealth they could comfortably achieve it.

a stupid idea from greg that's been roundly thrashed by nearly everyone I have seen talking about it - newspapers, tv and radio pundits, managers, ex players and fans. about the only thing that has united english football since maradona's handball.
if we want more English players in the premier league then restrict the number of foreigners who can play in each match. that doesn't interfere with freedom of employment as clubs could employ as many overseas players as they wanted...just not pick more than 5 at a time.
but of course that wouldn't create BETTER English players, just more of them. and in theory, if the prem league drops in standard because of it then our very best players won't be learning and improving by playing against the best of the world.
