Liverpool host Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon as the Premier League season draws to a close.

The Reds are two points adrift of leaders Manchester City and, for the first time since they were last crowned champions in 1990, they find themselves in with a chance of winning it on the final day of the season. But their capitulation against Crystal Palace on Monday night severely dented their hopes after coasting to a 3-0 lead only to draw the game. City's win over Aston Villa now means that City realistically need to lose against West Ham United today and Liverpool win in order for the title to come to Anfield. Liverpool will be hoping former players Andy Carroll, Joe Cole and Stewart Downing will be able to provide a favour this afternoon.

Newcastle have had a dreadful run of form in 2014, as they lost six games in a row before their victory against Cardiff City last weekend. They have suffered off-the-pitch problems with manager Alan Pardew having been given a lengthy touchline ban for headbutting Hull City's David Meyler, but he has now returned to the touchline.

Liverpool are without Sebastian Coates (knee) and Jose Enrique (knee) for this match.

Newcastle are without Sammy Ameobi (hamstring), Papiss Cisse (knee), Gabriel Obertan (knee), Ryan Taylor (knee) and Davide Santon (hamstring).

Cheers FBK.

Well done City, after us they are the best team to watch and if we had to lose to anybody they would be my preferred choice.

But much more importantly well done to us.

That's been a magnificent season and i've watched us play football reminiscent of the 80's at times.

Really really enjoyed it.
