2ND LEG

Thought it seemed too quiet on here , in a week leading up to a game which must rate as important as it gets as far as us progressing as a club to a level i didnt even dare to dream of 10-15 yrs ago, so i thought id see how many of you are as nervous about saturday as i am . I am trying to play down our chances ,make excuses , blame injuries , etc ,but really i will be gutted if we dont get to a wembley play off final for two years on the trot . We do seem to get injuries at crucial times , along with more than our fair share of sendings off .That referee on sunday must realise he made a grave mistake with the first booking of Ian Sharp ,which really is harsh on the player. I wonder how Shane Candill -Sherriff is doing ,lets hope he is back as i feel sure Southend are going to throw everthing bar the kitchen sink at us , in the hope we crack early, and then the tie is open ,and with as i suspect a record crowd crammed in to Roots Hall behind their team they would certainly be the favourites to win the tie . We need to believe as we did when playing away at Chesterfield , Rochdale ,Fleetwood ,York, and Oxford that we can remain unbeaten . Come on Brewers , snatch a goal silence their crowd ,dont sit back waiting for them to score .Attack , and take the game to them .

I am not nervous about the team as I know we can beat anyone in league 2. What I am nervous about is the Ref. I hope the FA send a good ref for this game as Southend will try to do the same as the last game. I fear the ref will crack when 9000 Southend fans kick off with every challenge. I hope we get the first goal and 800 Burton fans can silence the home crowd.
They will throw everything at us , but we must keep our cool and do what we have been doing for most of the season by frustrating the hell out of other teams.
I do agree 1 up front would only help Southend as they would just pepper us. We must attack Southend to keep them at bay.
I can not wait for Saturday and whatever happens

Referee on Saturday is Paul Tierney from Wigan. We last had him at home to Bristol Rovers when he sent off 3 players - Beardsley & O'Toole for Rovers and Jimmy Phillips for Albion

I am not nervous either. I was nervous away at Bradford last season and those goals from Calvin and Robbie Weir didn't half make me feel better.

I wasn't nervous about the second leg either. The game started and right from the off I could tell we didn't seem as hungry as Bradford and I knew that sadly we were going to lose.

I wasn't nervous for the Southend match last Sunday either. I don't think I will be on Saturday either.
