Morning all, just been reading a few post over the past few weeks regarding Strootman... Just wondered if anyone actually knew much about him or better still, seen him play!
You tube videos can make me look amazing however his are rather low key! Last article I saw today was we are planning a £25m bid... As LVG loves him too bits! ...But I thought he was injured?
There no doubt we need a box to box enforcer who has an eye for a forward pass, actually we need two... But is this not going to be Owen Hargreaves all over again! And more importantly is £25m too much???

Watched a few times as we were previously linked with him, always thought he was average. Apparently he was great for Roma though (haven't seen him there) and he is still suffering a long term injury, so wouldn't be signed this summer anyway.
I know LVG was quoted as saying only two players are guarenteed starters for Holland, those were RVP and Strootman.

If he is fit again and I believe he will be then imo he is exactly what we need
Box to box and a clever player, the Dutch Roy Keane? that might be an unfair comparison but he is as close as we can expect and more importantly need in a CM player at the minute

It makes you wonder why on earth did we not show interest last summer when he was sold for 17m and then week later we sp#nked 10m more on Fellaini who was exactly what we didn't need.

The worry is that Serie A is so slow compared with the prem. If he is being looked at as a midfield 'enforcer' would rather see a proven premiership player like Schneiderlin bought in. Although if shaw happens I don't imagine it will be easy to get another saints player
