I don't know if any of you watch the Fantasy Football Club but they do a thing where guests name the best team they can create out of players they've played with/against. And the odd time they get famous fans to pick their best team from the years they've supported their clubs.
Being born in '94 - my Liverpool team would be..
-----------------Reina-------------------
Arbeloa--Hyypia--Carragher--Riise
--------Mascherano-Alonso----------
----------------Gerrard------------------
------Torres---Owen---Fowler--------
I know it lacks balance, but Fowler and Owen were my first "favourite players" and I absolutely loved Fernando
A balanced side would probably include Suarez but I just cannot think who to drop out of Owen and Torres.
What would yours be? (Make sure your team is based on players you watched, so not people who played when you weren't capable of understanding football)

Absolute rubbish, I've been watching the reds much longer (can vaguely remember the 84 EC final as a7 year old) and Suarez would be in my team.

And Owen would be no where near, whilst a prolific goalscorer he was not a great footballer.

Didn't really want to pick Reina after the way he gave up in his last two years at the club but we haven't had many top keepers in my years supporting, and he was a top keeper for a while.

frankly for me this reads as a who dun it...
there are an awful lot of very much better players being left out.
For me:
GK: there is only IMO two choices, Clemence and Reina.
RB: Neal or nicol for me
LB? kennedy or riise probably.
CB: god take your pick of 10, Hyppia, carragher in the last 15 years, hanson, lawrenson, hughes, yeats, thompson... list goes on and on.
CM: if i were to pick just 3 it'd be souness gerrard and alonso by a country mile but there are a lot of guys like molby or mcdermott who are hard done by there.
A front 3... its f'n easy. Rush, dalglish and barnes. suarez might make that if he stays 5 years and acheives something... sorry but folwer was good but that was a) when he had pace and b) not outside the box as he was actually average on the ball. As for owen? meh, could have been a great but just wasn't for two reasons. As for torres... not a hope.
