Millions of Documents?

Every time I read an article about Qatar's alleged corruption, it states that The Times obtained "millions" of documents and emails.

Millions? Surely that's not possible?

BB. I would prefer an arab country over Australia tbh. Last time i went to an international was u21 England v Portugal as part of kick it out with a few kids of various nationalities and we had to be security escorted out due to abuse from "our" own fans, ie England fans. Teenage kids in tears out of fear. Wearing England kits too

never been to Australia but mates who have faced loads and wouldn't go again

so qatar would actually be doable for me and my lads
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been to Australia and they can offer easy travel, different and beautiful scenery, mixed climates, friendly people who are used to tourism and a bloody good time. It would be a holiday and well as a World Cup.

Providing you and your lads don't drink, none are gay and you don't mind sitting in your hotel all day, the desert sounds like a good place. I've been to Dubai and Ayres rock and tbh, I'd rather swim in the Antarctic Han run around in that heat. The games will literally have to be throughout the night because players will be in danger in the daytime.

Do Qatar even have a national team?

And what does an u21 game in England have to do with Australia hosting a WC?

What does his even mean?

BB. We don't drink, none are gay. As Muslims we don't agree with either tbh. Please note that's not the same as hating people who are gay. Not into s&m either.

point is that we all feel comfortable in different places and should get that chance. For me not having to worry about halal food and places to pray would be fantastic. Not looking like the weirdo for once lol fantastic

the u21 example was to show the above too.

Bb. Faced loads of racism

Oh right, shame for them, I did receive one gesture but shrugged it off.

There was racism towards the natives, they are a nuisance to society similarly to ch!vvy doll dossers in the UK, although it didn't stop them being friendly with those who integrated into society.

Although to be fair I heard those comments when an aboriginal spat in a tourists drink, we're caught stealing petrol to sniff and things like that, though I found he references to their race distasteful to say the least.

Lots of Asian people in Oz

BB. Its gotten harder since the kids came along to ignore tbh. also we are mixed race couple so get bits now and again

don't overly let it bother me tbh was in rouen driving with all the le Penn posters everywhere explaining that one to kids who were initially impressed thinking she was vip. Lol

just saying would be nice not to worry tbh or think about it for once

That's fair enough

The whole Qatar bid was a joke from the start. There is no legitimate argument for their country hosting the biggest sporting event on the planet.

It is a homophobic, racist, and sexist country to begin with. Which is just about everything FIFA is "trying" to stamp out of the game. On top of that, women are expected cover up in public and alcohol is frowned upon. Yet again two things hugely associated with previous world cups (Brazilian fans anyone?). Outside of these reasons, Qatar has no impact on world football whatsoever, no infrastructure, and their team is quite frankly rubbish. We already have players like Ibra missing out on the tournament and that's before allowing 23 part time Qatari footballers an automatic spot in one of the groups.

And if all that wasn't enough, the temperatures in the summer aren't fit for outdoor sports, so there's talk of inconveniencing every league in Europe just so we can host it there.

I really don't see how they be allowed to bid to be a host let alone actually win the thing.

And FIFA are bastions of virtue.

"On top of that, women are expected cover up in public and alcohol is frowned upon. Yet again two things hugely associated with previous world cups (Brazilian fans anyone?)."
--------------------------
The first point here is pointless. People in England complain about women covering up citing culture yet when the culture is to cover up complain about it. Can't have it both ways. The ban on alcohol would be relaxed as it was in Brazil, but generally, I agree with the Brazilian law and support it in Qatar. Again, FIFA is at fault for choosing that and making countries change their laws for them.

Here is the main aspects of not supporting a Qatar bid or hosting it. The issue about the heat may be mitigated by AC filled statiums. The issue about having no infustructure for the sport, you only need to look at USA hosting it back in 94. I do think Qatar need to improve and that may happen, either properly or through the backdoor. The thing is, it is never nice for the host to go out early and show a poor showing.

Agree with the latter part of it but not the former.
