Canelo vs Lara prediction

One of the most highly anticipated fights of the year is upon us this Saturday at the MGM grand Las Vegas. The two best fighters at light middleweight will go head to head to prove once and for all,who the top dog in the division really is.

Saul Canelo Alvarez has seen and been through so much at a young age in the sport of boxing and yet his journey is still at it's dawn. With a record of 43-1 he has gained superstar status in his home country of Mexico and many see him as the new golden boy. There is no doubt that the original golden boy Oscar Dela Hoya had a major part to play in catapulting the once shy ginger Mexican kid into stardom, but he has repaid the faith shown in him with wins over big names like Austin Trout and Alfredo Angulo. Possessing big power and speed coupled with his technical boxing skills canelo is a an accomplished boxer puncher. He throws vicious hooks especially to the body and he works the inside very well. His defence is underrated as is his boxing IQ whilst exhibiting qualities such as heart and chin that is accustomed to Mexican fighters.

Erislandy Lara has come along way with perhaps a lot less adoration and attention than his opponent. Hailing from a country that produces a conveyor belt of boxing talent the Cuban southpaw holds a record of 19-1 and a substantial amount of experience in the amateurs as well as numerous titles. Making his pro debut in 2009 Lara has already racked up some big wins and his clinical and technical boxing style has made him a fighter not just to be feared but to be avoided. He has wins over Angulo,Trout and a very controversial loss against Paul Williams which have solidified his status as one of the top fighters on the planet. With the lack of willing opponents to take on Lara took matters into his own hands and gate crashed Canelos post fight press conference and threw down the gauntlet. Canelo was more than willing to oblige.A very accomplished amateur boxer he possesses speed in abundance, very much a technical boxer the slick south paw works well on the outside and has a formidable jab. His boxing intelligence make him a very dangerous opponent with comparisons made to Floyd Mayweather.

Prediction:
This is a very close fight and It will be an interesting watch. Styles make fights and these two mesh together well. Both have speed with the edge to Lara and both have power with the edge to Canelo. Lara with his south paw stance will be awkward and will look to time Canelo. He works well off the jab and will look to land his left which can do damage. Lara also throws punches from various angles and it will be a tricky task for canelo to overcome. However Canelo for me has a very underrated outside game and although he was schooled by Floyd he is a very savvy and intelligent boxer. He can box also and he will look to be the aggressor in this fight knowing once he gets on the inside he can go to his bread and butter, the hooks to the body. Canelo also posses a very good chin and I can't see Lara stopping him. He also has the power to stop and drop Lara but timing Lara is no easy feat. My prediction, i think canelo wins via split decision. I think Lara out boxes him during a few rounds but the power shots of canelo take its toll and Lara gets dropped a few times late on.

Ok here's there weights Floyd put in 2lbs

Yes, I know Floyd told Showtime he weighed 148 and you being a Flomo, of course believed that, like you believe everything Floyd says. What about the time he said Pacquiao was next ON CAMERA and then denied saying it? What about the countless other lies he's told?

I already told you, Floyd is a compulsive liar, he is insecure.

And Maidana said he weighed in with his clothes on on fight night, so that wasn't his real weight

What are you on about it says Floyd stepped onto the scales

how do you know who saw Floyd step on the scale, he could easily just lie about the weight genius, ever consider that?

Look at the difference between the abs after the weigh in and on fight night. You're telling me 2 pounds made that difference? Typical deluded Flomo
