PREVIEW
Liverpool's players who featured at this summer's World Cup return to club duty as the Reds take on Italian side AS Roma in the first match of their tour of the USA. This match is a friendly before the Reds begin the International Champions Cup campaign against Olympiakos on Sunday. Brendan Rodgers's side met AS Roma two years ago at the same venue when the Italians ran out 2-1 winners. The last competitive meeting was a night to remember, as Liverpool defeat Roma by the two-goal margin they needed to progress to the next round of the Champions League - a night when then-manager Gerard Houllier returned to the dugout following ill health.

So take this opinion with a pinch of salt. A Liverpool fan who has traveled to Boston while on holiday visting friends this is one mans voice. Before the game the atmosphere was friendly and a lots of families. When the first team was announced in the bar there was a huge disappointment. The atmosphere was very subdued. It was the worst rendition of YNWA I've ever taken part of. Not sure if it was just me but the whole game there was no atmosphere. In my 20years of watching Liverpool (31years old) that was the worst game I've ever gone too. don't know what it looked like on TV but live was a huge snooze Fest. A lot of Liverpool fans around me all angry and saying what was the point when we didn't see any attacking play. I for one will never go see a friendly game again.

What do u expect? It's a preseason friendly. It played out exactly like every other preseason game. You can't expect the kop in a friendly 3000 miles from home.

Lamela has been replaced and upstaged by Gervinho. That should tell you everything you need to know about him.

Glad I dident stay up, commercially we missed a trick there, instead of entertaining prospective American fans, who have more interest in football now than ever before thanks to the world cup - we instead took all their "boring football" stereotypes and beat them to boredom with them.

If you had been one of the millions of Americans who have taken an interest in football since the world cup, and you watched all the games yesterday, you can almost guarantee you would have ended up supporting the attacking entertaining Manchester team. Who stuffed one of the top MLS teams.

There is a reason they are so much more successful commercially than us. We really missed a trick there. V dissapointing

Insert Random Username spot on mate. Lots of people around me were American neutral fans that wanted to see a game of soccer. Two of my American friends with me had never seen a game and they were a bit bored. Can't blame them even me a liverpool fan who enjoys watching the youngster play in our reserve fixtures was finding it a hard to watch game...

That United team beat Roma. Do you know why? No Borini

Borini would walk right into Roma's reserves.

Borini started for Roma. Scored goals for them too.
