Really disappointing display today, and imo hearts were worthy of their victory or at the very least a draw!
I don't mind seeing us lose if we have a go at the opposition but in the 1st half we didn't even have an attempt on target. Chance creation i feel is the key issue for rangers, we just seem to run out of ideas too quickly and start firing up the long balls. This may have worked in lower divisions, but the teams we're coming up against now with better quality are just gonna eat that up all day. As with last season i feel the midfield is a problem area, Law and Black are reasonably tidy players but as a combo they don't really work. Neither are particularly creative and aren't going to play that killer ball for either boyd or miller. Our best player Mcleod is being shunted out wide to accommodate these two and i feel if he were to be played centrally he could provide the creative spark we need in the middle of the park! Another alternative would be for us to go out and sign a creative midfield player, or even a winger to provide some sort of spark to the team. How feasible it is to sign another player is anyones guess though, i feel we'd have to get rid of some of the deadwood before that happens!
It is the 1st game of the season and ill give this squad and mccoist time, but from what i've seen so far the same old issues from last season seem to be raising their ugly head again!
A poor show today!

Templeton had two chances in the first half, up until hearts scored rangers were the better team

to win at ibrox it should mean that their keeper should have a great game. not sitting down reading the Sunday Mail

Black and law were doing ok in midfield till black went off injured, hutton is a waste of space, law was all over the place when black went off, hearts then scored and it was uphill after that

We didn't play too bad in general. Better than against Hibs at least! However we lost two bad goals, missed a sitter and didn't cash in on a number of good situations. Hearts played OK generally. Well done to them.

We were alright first 30 minutes I thought, then we sat back in and let Hearts come onto us.
Black being injured disrupted our flow, he was the only midfielder who got passmarks. Hutton and Law were terrible today, neither of them deserve to be at us, but them being here reflect on our current situation. Macleod was anonymous as well. I'd have Black and Macleod in the middle of the pitch next week.

To be honest hearts looked, fitter, stronger and younger(wouldn't be hard) than us, but that was as the game went on, the set pieces really boil my p!ss, why the fack cant we take a free kick, corner of throw in to our advantage

Took my Nephew from Istanbul to his first game at Ibrox today along with my Dad and we were dire.
Ally is 100% to blame. Sooner he goes the better. We have a good squad and poor management and tactics. Same dirge for the last few seasons.

Laudrup, the set-pieces today were abysmal
I don't think we won a header from any of them
Depressing stuff

We shouldn't have to rely on set pieces to beat teams at Ibrox. That's a cloggers mentality, even if it is part of the game.
I was watching the game trying to work out our system, as we didn't have one at all. One minute we were playing 3 at the back then 4 and it wasn't switching with possession and non possession it just seemed as if no-one knew what system they were meant to be playing or where they should be. It was changing constantly the whole game.
LVG at Man U had drills and videoed Man U players in defence and told them they were 2 feet out etc etc and they had a big team talk on it, then worked on it on the park again afterwards.
Our team meanwhile looks like guys playing in the local park! It's a joke, an absolute joke.
