Can people stop having a pop at Paulinho
I know his first season was somewhat disappointing but tbf the whole team were a complete shambles. Only ones to come away with credit were the likes of Eriksen, Lloris, Bentaleb and at a push Ade. All others played well below their potential
Some stats:
Paulinho - 30 - 6

Bentaleb - 13 - 0
Eriksen - 25 - 7
Lennon - 27 - 1
Lamele - 9 - 0
Dembele - 27 - 1
Holtby - 13 - 1
Townsend - 25 - 1
Chadli - 24 - 1
Let's not forget that it is his first season, a different country, league, two managers and a world cup year which Brazil happened to be hosting.
He is a good player we just haven't played to this advantages, same as Soldado in a way. Yet he has done better than most of our midfielders. He should definitely not be sold unless its for a fair profit. Imho i think he could surprise a lot of you if used properly this season.

Do you honestly think those reasons are good enough for a professional footballer not to be able to pass a ball 10 yards or show a slight interest in the game he is playing in then?

i inserted a caveat at the start of my article. i acknowledge he was largely craaap but i am trying to focus on the positives with the new season in mind, the idea being that we can hopefully see an improvement
if we want to score goals from the midfield who are we going to rely on apart from Eriksen and Paulinho, lennon? Nah... Townsend.... nah, Dembele? No chance. Paulinho offers that goal threat and he will hopefully play a big part in this season

Yes he scored a few goals last season but for a supposedly top class player I dont think he is anywhere near good enough and I am quite sick of excuses for players who cannot do the most basic thing in the game and thats make a simple pass.
