Greek sources saying he's having a medical with us.
Only really paid attention to him at the World Cup, I'm sure he played against us whenever we've played Olympiakos in recent times. He really impressed me, and would be exactly what Koscielny and Mert need in healthy competition.
I'm sure those of you who watch European football very closely will be able to give a better judgement.
So Manolas...

Tim Vickery described Vargas as a penalty box striker, I'd tend to believe him. He knows his stuff.

If he can fit in, a penalty box striker is what we need. Said that about Francis Jeffers though.

If he's a penalty box striker he isn't very good then, looking at his record the last few years.

Vargas is decent enough. Very quick too. Was pretty good for Valencia last year.

It doesn't help when various managers have stuck hom out on the left wing. Having him on a years loan while sanogo out for a year would benefit all involved

Yeah did play as a support striker at Valencia too. Played 2nd fiddle to Cavani at Napoli too. He hasnt had a fair crack at his favoured position at any European club for some reaason.

Vargas is garbage. Really hope those rumors are not true. What I do hope is true is Manolas having a medical. Hope we sign him and get him in ASAP.

For me signing Vargas would suggest next summer we'll sign a striker.

What's with this wingers/strikers.
Why can't we just buy a centre forward rather than searching for a loan move for a striker once again
