According to FootballMarseille, OM are releasing the player from his current contract which doesnt expire until 2015 to facilitate the move to us. This means we pay no transfer fee and the reports of 3m euros are inaccurate. He is a high earning player at OM with a lot of previous pedigree and the club are keen to get him off their wage bill
Fanni has played for France 5 times but has mainly served as a back up to Sagna. He was a regular for Marseille but this season at 32 is no longer in their plans. Fanni can also play CB if required.
