Has died today, RIP to a great footballing voice, after the iconic Sports Report theme tune to hear is voice reading out the scores.... he had a great nil !

When he retired they did a forum on who could take over reading the results, I said if Stuart Hall hadn't been in prison ... he would have been perfect. It got deleted!

I have to say this is sad news, he was ill for a while but my memories of football as a kid included the famous music and his great delivery of the results as we drove home.
Given how he said it you could easily take a few weeks of his recordings and clip them about to keep him "virtually" reading the scores! There are a few teams in the Football League he wouldnt have covered but it would stil be worth it!
