Pity if so as he has been doing well.

Dumbarton game - Aird out?

"Yea and a lot of people thought ally was bringing in too many players"
So how does Aird getting injured now prove he doesnt have too many players??
With Black coming back, on the inury table we have got Bell, Foster, Miller, Aird and Daly.
We've got Simonsen and plenty young goalkeepers to cover for Bell, dont know why we even brought Simonsen in when we had Gallagher who's now the reserve goalie at Hearts but there you go.
Foster is out, we have been using McGregor at RB, but also have McAusland sitting doing fck all, Stevie Smith doing fck all, Faure doing fck all.
Miller and Daly are both out, we are playing Boyd and Clark mainly, but also have Shiels as an option behind a front two and again youth players we could throw into the mix.
and with Aird out....we've got a ton of options for his position, we've got McKay bac form Morton, Callum Gallagher, Peralta who player a lot last season, Robbie Crawford, Sheils again, we could push Lee Wallace forward and use Smith at LB......and again, youth players a plenty to give a shot to.
So again.....explain how Aird being out now justifies Ally's sqaud numbers?

A spate of injuries makes the squad thin on the ground

I dont think the squad is big enough if we keep getting injuries like we have done

Maybe we should have bought some younger players then and not umpteen old fogies??
You expecting a squad peppered with 30 somethings to stay fit all season??
I'm certainly not

Players get injured. Aird is injured he's hardly an old fogey.

Aird aside
Foster is 29
Miller is 34
Daly is 31
Black is 29

29 is hardly ancient especially these days.

Also Cammy Bell is injured and he's 27.

I think its because we went all the way to the US and played on daft synthetic pitches, all for the sake of a few quid, both from CG and the tour organisers.
I also see the point that St3vie is making in regards to squad size. We've got a helluva sized squad, much bigger than that of any side in the last 10 years or so. The thing is, it's so bloated with dross, that most of the back-ups can't be relied upon, and most of which have been brought in the last 3 years.
Airds injury is just sheer bad luck. I'd hope it wasn't anything to do with him trying to continue, otherwise it just daft by all parties to allow that to happen. He's been one of few players who has made a positive start to the campaign, even from the bench.

If we have a serious injury list we will struggle, our squad is thin, any player of any age can get injured especially against small clubs they kick anything in sight
