Charlton midfielder Johann Berg Gudmundsson may miss the Championship match with Wolves after a groin injury forced him off 28 minutes into Saturday's 1-0 win over Watford.
Right-back Chris Solly may be left out to rest a long-standing knee problem.
Wolves duo Bakary Sako and Lee Evans may be included from the start after being named on the bench for Saturday's 0-0 draw with Blackpool.
Manager Kenny Jackett has a fully-fit squad at his disposal.

I suggest you take your theory to the Villa board DJ. 4 goals in 4 games and 2nd in the Premier League. Points win games not by how many goals you can score.

I don't need to take anything to their board because I know a number of Villa fans and their view is that Villa wont finish in the top half mainly because they wont score enough goals. Intelligent football fans can see these things on the horizon. You should have more respect for our manager who has been saying all summer that we need another striker and I agree with him

Witless complained about winning games by "any means". Now he's advocating it.

I have the utmost respect for our manager and I believe he's doing a much better job than I thought this season. Well done KJ.
His desire to get another striker has thus far failed and he cannot be blamed for that. However, I always thought that we had a policy of only bringing in players that would be better than what we had already. But it seems that we are bringing in players to supplement the squad due to our wage structure. That's fine by me in this league, but should we go up, money has to be spent on getting better players.
What I do find interesting is the fact we offer a player like Evans a 3 year contract but only offer less amounts to "established" players. Our youth is our future and not players that got us promoted to the top flight before.
As for you Butey. Your remarks make as much sense as the ideas Alex Salmond had for Scotland.

How many clubs in the world have a policy of bringing in players worse than what they have already I wonder

Where's the Bolton thread?

we're a little thin in the squad in a couple of positions. which is why we are looking to improve those areas. we tried to add a CB and forward during the window but couldn't get the right players at the right price.
silly valuations of £3-4m for players who were in a worse team than wolves last year in the third division, or who have done absolutely nothing yet to merit the price will not interest wolves. the idea that a kid with a handful of games is suddenly valued at £6m just because he has been languishing in the Chelsea reserves is part of what is wrong with the current set up in England.
add to that the idea a lot of players have that they are entitled to £10,000+ per week based on their name and you can see why we're having difficulties getting in the right man for KJ. the idea that cleverly was demanding £80,000 per week to play for villa is laughable. an ok CM who showed some early potential but who has gone backwards for two years, he should have been desperate to kick-start his career by getting established as a first team regular, instead of haggling to the last possible minute and almost costing him another 4 months of rotting in man united's reserves.
it is foolish to think that just because we have started well, we don't need to continue to strengthen the squad. we were third under solbakken later into the season than this, and if we'd have strengthened the obviously weak CM/CB pairings at that stage, would never have got relegated. there's a reason why clubs that win titles still look to bring in new players in each window (look at man city, chelsea, man united over the last few years who never allow the squad to become stale or to miss a chance to try and improve what they have).
we need another striker - and possibly two if KJ doesn't fancy lmac. it may be that the people we bring in go on to eclipse dicko and we move him on. it may be they play a role as reserves for most of the season, coming off the bench to score goals (something Clarke has been unable to do so far). or we may drop on the next steve bull and revert to a powerful 442 set up. but we certainly do need someone and KJ knows it.

gb, your use of the word 'improve' is what matters here. If we're going to get another striker, he needs to be better than Dicko.

no he doesn't WITSS
he needs to be better than our reserve choices. if he's better than dicko great, but at the least he has to improve our options each game which means producing more than Clarke or Lmac have done so far.
