PREVIEW
The Champions League returns to Anfield after a 5 year absence as Ludogorets Razgrad of Bulgaria are the visitors for the opening match of Group B.

The Reds will be looking to put Saturday's poor result and performance against Aston Villa behind them with victory on Tuesday.

Ludogorets are making their debut in the Champions League following defender Cosmin Moti's two penalty shootout saves against Steaua Bucharest.

Only Steven Gerrard was in the squad when Liverpool were beaten at home to Fiorentina 2-1 as a disappointing group showing ended in a third place finish behind the Italian side and Lyon.

The captain spoke of his anguish at watching Chelsea win the competition and rivals Manchester United reach the final during Liverpool's absence.

"There has almost been a jealousy and an envy that we weren't involved," said Gerrard.

Yeah I agree it will be more difficult with games coming thick and fast. tonight was a bit of that, injury to studge, still a lack of understanding and cohesion between several new players.

Time and more games playing together will help as several new players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

do you think you spent too much on fire power rather than addressing needs.

for example 75 for suarez, surely with type of money you could have brought in a class of a striker, i think i saw an article on your board saying you went for quantity rather than quality
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We had a thin squad last year, which was fine for last seasons needs. We needed a bigger squad this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You got the same number of players registered this year as you did last

Basically you're saying that a team can't have a dip in form when they have 7 days to prepare. Do you know what a ridiculous comment that is?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
NOOOOOOOO

what am saying is for a club that has any ambition to be in cl and has 7days to prepare should be challenging the top 4.

my bad for making sound like form cant affect this,

meaning this is why you has such a good seaon last year,

not saying you will not finish in top 4 gain but you will find it extremely difficult, as you will rest key players and this has cost ya already in the villa game.

certainly form can affect your season

Markovic was the only player not to play from the Villa game (suspended). No players were rested, just injured or suspended.

Thank you. That's all I was saying

I believe we're just struggling for form at the moment. It's more to do with fitting players into the squad than playing CL football. Surely it's too early to blame CL football for anything???? Sterling would of been on the subs bench against Villa regardless of tonights game. Don't forget he's only 19 and BR still needs to manage his appearances.

Dear god, you're an imbecile Of course we have the same number of players registered, that's a fixed number for every team.

The players on the bench shows how thin a squad is. We clearly have much better options off the bench than last season.....

I can't believe you are still denying the obvious.
Of course having a full week to prepare makes a big difference. Players have time to recover from little niggles, rest more, practice with their team mates more.
Only a complete dil would not accept that.

this is what i am trying to put across, but there seem to be some sort of lost translation with this
