Criticism of Vardy

I'm shocked, astounded and appalled by the behaviour of some people towards Vardy, for what can only be described as an outstanding performance and probably the best I have ever seen from anyone in a Leicester shirt.

I think the criticism he's received and being called a "cheat" is ludicrous but attacking him because of his appearance is absolutely shameful. To be called a "thug" is ridiculous and one idiot even said "we don't need his sort in football, no thanks"

Well I'd like to argue that he is exactly the kind of player football needs. His attitude and desire are exemplary and I can't wait to see him terrorise the rest of this league too. Rooney or Vardy? Not even a choice for me.

Moore said Vardy was a popular figure within the squad and not just because of his effervescent performances.

“He’s a good lad," said Moore. “He’s known as ‘Cannon’ as he’s always lively. The energy he shows on the pitch he always shows off it as well. He’s always bubbling around and up to mischief, but he’s great to have around the changing room."

He put in an honest shift where he battled for everything and may have been physical at times but this is still a blokes sport, even if it has gone soft in recent years,

Also let's be fair, it was the linesman that didn't give the ball out and Clattenberg that didn't give a foul and then adjudged Rafael to foul him, it's up to the red to make the decisions and for the player to make him. Yes he played for it but why not? Football is about making the opposition make mistakes and he certainly did that and took United apart all afternoon.

Vardy for England by the end of the season?

Sometimes you have to just step back, point, and laugh.

Have a good day, gents.

said the defeated poster, clear pen funny how it's only mancs disputing it

And anyway it didn't matter the foxes had yous done it was only a matter of time, Falcao, ADM RVP and piggy won't make Smalling, Jones, Rojo etc. any better at defending.

LVG worst start ever to a PL campaign for united, Moyes did far better with only Fellaini signed.

Hilarious

Anyone who seriously thinks that was a penalty needs to watch another sport.

The contact was absolute bare minimum. There was no challenge or shirt pulling, Rafael simply ran alongside him and Vardy threw his body at him while going down. He didn't "step in front of him", because no foot was planted. It's honestly one of the most blatant dives you'll see in the league this year. Just look at how awkwardly he falls. It's not natural at all and very reminiscent of the way Young goes down when he dives. And no United fan condones that either.

I couldn't imagine anyone agreeing with that penalty decision if it wasn't against Man Utd.

Jog on lad dopey hobbit runs into an attackers back in the area, Vardy takes a step to his right caus ehe knows the clown is a liability.

Clear pen can't believe, well I can actually, Mancs are trying to have a pop at Vardy and not at that shocking shocking player Rafael.

Funny how you all want to criticise the player who ruined you.

Falco to play center back next

Isle of Manc. I don't disagree with you, it should not have been a penalty.

What I am arguing is that it was not a dive.

These 2 things can be mutually exclusive.

Please explain Merseysidefox, because that was about as clear of a dive as you can get in my book. There wasn't even any leg to leg contact before he was going down. Look at Rafael's body position, he has both hands held up and his legs straight beneath him as not to make a challenge. Vardy threw himself at him while going down to force the contact

All day a pen

...and, in the process, he runs into him.

It doesn't have to be a push or a trip or a grab, if you run into someone from behind and knock the over, it's a foul. Yes, Vardy was looking for it, but Rafael carried on regardless.

It was one of only four goals conceded anyway

So funny the hoopla made over a home win v qpr the worst team in the division by far
