Derby County v Bournemouth - Match Thread

The Ryder Cup is ours! Thank you Jamie Donaldson for hitting the winning thingy...

I'll not pretend to know anything about golf. The only knowledge I have of it is how to play it on the Wii, and I'm actually a champion at that

By the way, Viewfrom wishes you all to know that he will be late today as he is busy marking books.

Steve McClaren is also celebrating his 1 year milestone at Derby County - blimey, feels like he's been here for years now Only now can I fully appreciate what a dark and confusing time for us it was when Nigel was sacked - I still tear up about it to this day However, with Stevey, we are certainly headed places.

Fresh off a comfortable victory over Bolton last week, Derby look to have finally CLICKED. (About time - we've been talking wistfully about it for long enough.) Derby have won three of the last four meetings, drawing one, and the last time Bournemouth won was a 3-2 victory at Derby in 1985.

Bournemouth have lost only one of their six away games all season (to Blackburn in August), and they like fish and chips, ice cream, and building sand castles

Dawkins is out with a groin injury, but we could see a return from Hendrick today after his recovery from a dislocated shoulder

Could someone post the team news?

COYR!

So am I.

St Bernardus Abt 12 is one of the greatest beers in the world, and I've got 24 bottles of it. OK, 23 and a half because I opened one 15 minutes ago.

No, it's not 12%, but it is over 10%.

Some people prefer Westvleteren 12 and praise it as the best beer in the world, but that's because it's very difficult to come by (the St Sixtus Westvleteren monastery doesn't brew a huge amount). However, until a decade ago, the St Bernardus Watou brewery used to brew the Westvleteren beer on behalf of the brewery.

When production was brought within the walls of the monastery, St Bernardus retained the original recipe and changed the name. The St Sixtus monastery used exactly the same grain bill for their Westvleteren 12, but they actually changed the yeast (they now bring it in weekly from Westmalle).

So basically St Bernardus Abt 12 is the ORIGINAL Westvleteren 12. In a parallel taste test, I prefer it anyway. It's not my favourite beer, but it's right up there. My favourite is Casteel Donker, but I have 24 bottles of that too. OK, 22. I had a couple after getting back from the iPro last night.

Erdinger Dunkel is a German dark lager, and very nice it is too, Igor.

The beers I'm on about would cost a fiver a bottle in a pub in the UK, but less than 50 Euros a case in Belgium. In many instances, a lot less than that. It costs about 22 Euros to have a case shipped over, so basically the total cost works out at around £2-50 a bottle (half UK pub price).
