Steve Clarke for BWFC

Why is the best man for the job not getting a mention. Have I missed something? Steve Clarke is far and away the best manager to replace Freedman. Sort yourselves out and get him

He was the 1st name on my list 😉

It is a good shout. Might be like pulis too expensive and waiting for a prem job.

Clarke has been waiting a while for a job. I think he is a great coach but maybe needs to have a think about his back room staff, perhaps an old wise head needed alongside him. Would be a good fit for Bolton IMO. Going to be a tricky choice with the financial position the Trotters appear to be in.

In the paper I see Dave Jones, Mackay, McDermott or Neil Lennon.
I can't see Mackay or Lennon taking on a club with so much debt and little money. McDermott I don't rate and that leaves Dave Jones. For me he is an experienced head who can stop the slid out of this league.

Not a great list of candidates. Maybe Lennon out of that list but surely there are better about? The guy at MK Dons would be a coup.

I don't want the next manager to have a history of being sacked and that certainly rules out dave Jones who made a right mess at Sheffield Wednesday. Jones, mowbray, davies are 3 who I would not touch.

Word on the street is we are only looking at unattached managers. Jones, McDermott, Mowbury, Lennon. Can't see past them. The likes of Hughton, Clarke or Pulis just wouldn't be interested. We are no longer a team with any prospects. As a Bolton fan, I would knock the job back for the sake of my career currently. If I was a manager. I know turning down your team is controversial but that's why I fail to see us getting any real quality in. There is no one behind the scenes with a record in management. As I posted last week there is a real chance we may not get someone better.

Just had a horrible thought. Steve kean!

It would be a bit ironic to have shown Freedman the door to then employ a manager with a far worse record in this division.

Clarke was interviewed for the job yesterday if you believe the sun.
