CLUELESS

Im sorry but its time for a reality check after saturday ,plain and simple we are still not good enough to gain promotion . My personal feeling is that Gary needs to ship Blythe back to Leicester , and rest McGurk ,Weir ,and Palmer otherwise we are going one way and thats down .We did miss Mousinho to be fair which happens but all teams suffer injuries . When was the last time we scored more than two goals ? its the same old ,same old boring grinding out a 1-0 win if were lucky ,and if the opposition score thats almost game over. I even think at the moment Macdonald looks worth his place ,but again he dives in to challenges and will get bookeed over and over . Sorry for the rant lads but just getting disalousioned with our performances . Looking at the league table we are still ok but with two tricky away games and Plymouth at home next i fear
our days in the top seven may be a thing of the past . We need to replace Kee with somone as good if not better , and freshen the midfield up with a short term loan signing maybe until we get players back fit or playing with confidence again .

It was very depressing on Saturday. I sat there just willing for the clock to move faster so it could all be over. We were never going to score. That was obvious when we had those two blocked on the line in the first half. Second half well. Lack of cutting edge is clear for all to see. If in doubt lets lump it up too a young lad who cannot compete with wily experienced div 2 defenders.
Now Gary has been installed as favourite for the Brum job. 😞

I resisted the urge to have a rant in the last 48 hours because when all is said and done we are 3rd and 3 points off the top. However, here is my summary of the situation.

- We need extra players and I said that a month ago. It is now chickens coming home to roost. It annoys me because it is so blatantly obvious and surely it is only stubborness that prevents it happening. I accept the counter argument that players have to be available, to be able to add something and to not break the bank. However, the alternative of do nothing is unacceptable.

- Building on the last point, you look at the bench each game to see which of the substitutes will have an impact. There are no impact players on it. Inspiring? No.

- Jacob Blyth is a poor conference player. Did anyone see his 2 misses against Doncaster? I would have buried both. I watched him on TV for Northampton against some non-league team in the FA Cup a year ago and laughed at how poor he was and how it was our good fortune that he wasn't still with us. Classic schadenfreude coming back to haunt me.

- We are carrying too many players in games. You can't win with 7 players on the pitch.

- I am not sure about this one but it has crossed my mind that maybe one problem is that Sharpsy is now a year older. I know that Rotherham got rid because he was slow and cumbersome and he has been immense for us since to be fair. Shane Cansdell-Sherriff has been poor this season which doesn't help.

- We need another goalscorer. How many looked at Blyth and McGurk on the pitch at 2.59pm on Saturday and thought 'Goalfest today'?

- We have won 2 and lost 6 in the last 8. Focusing on those 2 wins, did we deserve to beat Cheltenham? No. How many times in a season will a Big Mac 35 yard free kick go in? Once. It won us the game at Northampton. We could and probably should be looking at 8 without a win now.

If Jacob Blyth scores a hat trick at Carlisle I will serve a 3 match ban in the Predictor League ok.
