Well, after the deluge, the dust has settled. Time to reflect, time to take on board what we saw last night. I am actually heartened by the many comments made by fellow Reds, all well known to this site, each given their own true assessments of the game and players. Generally, most of the analyses has been spot on. It merely highlights the frustration felt -our world class player hasn't been replaced and to be honest I don't think we can, especially in the short term -but the support of the Reds should still remain resolute.
We were soundly beaten by the European Champions; no shame there, it merely highlights how far we have to go to get back home. Do we deserve to be there? No, certainly not on last night's performance. We haven't got a Kroos, my MOTM, the team are not laying together, Sturr coming back is not going to solve our problems.
We have young players coming in to the squad, I was concerned that Johnson was given the nod over Manquillo for example, but the problem lies with the team, or lack of it. Balo is filling the Press with his antics, non-events for me, it's an issue of Brendan getting the team to play, but as a team. Look no further than QPR last week: a team playing against eleven Reds who looked like strangers to each other.
Last night was no exception. Time for Brendan to earn his corn and banish any thoughts of moving to any other big club in Spain or anywhere else.

Where does it say he's think of moving to another club?

Nice to see rational comment at last.
I have supported the Reds for more years than I can say but one glaring fact is hitting me this season is that the players are playing as individuals NOT as a team and quite honestly, I cannot see Brendan sorting this for some time and I see this as a sweeping statement but he has to sort this problem ASAP before it gets any worse.

T 1, when he was interviewed, pre-match, he answered in Spanish to one of their Press in Spanish, and spoke of a time when he might manage in Spain. That being the night before our biggest game in five years, I almost fell out of my pram.

Wanted to do an article about the balo and br thing but thought would get taken as a wum so refrained
For me br has to be taken for what he is, basically new to cl and big club etc even city are struggling in europe and as a utd fan i believe saf did too.
Br simply was naive in having players up top waiting for a break when rm had the ball. Its rm they are not qpr etc. I do think rm relaxed due to el classico or this woyld have been a heavier defeat
Watching balo i thought he played well and even was involved in defending. He needs br to forget about studge for now and play to his strengths
The shirt incident is ludicrous as it was pepe who approached balo and he is actually known to be a nice guy, giving money to homeless etc
THIS is where br will be tested. He needs to sheild balo not himself. The shirt incident took away from him and he looked relieved of the diversion. A saf or mourinho would have deflected from the players and made themselves the fall guy.
Balo has issues but he needs a saf to cantona, he needs to be loved and wanted and will be loyal to the first manager who does that. Mancini et al dibwhat br potentially is and balo will just withdraw and that will be to lfc detriment
No wum here just my thoughts. I dont think br is what lfc need longterm imo and if i am wrong it will be if he adapts and learns
