At this moment in time I believe that our problems lay firmly at the managers feet, the squad imo is good and only needs strengthening in 1 or 2 positions.
Rodgers has shown an inability to get the best out of these players this season and a stubbornness that is becoming a real problem, big decisions are needed and Rodgers is simply not making them.
We as a club are known to be patient with our managers (Roy being an exception not a rule) and I would still like to see Rodgers at the helm of a successful era with the club and I'm certainly not saying now is the time for him to go but at this point unless he starts turning things around I simply don't see our owners putting up with the mediocrity that is being served up.
Balotelli is not good enough, Johnson is not good enough, Gerrard should be used correctly and these are points that every fan seems to agree on (yes there are more to agrue but these are the main points that everyone agrees on).
If the right manager became available at this point I would jump at the chance of replacing Rodgers I think our owners may be of the same opinion.

I think there is a littlle bit of Rodgers being stubborn at the heart of this
a couple of years ago he kept persisting with 4-3-3 / lone striker setups and we were struggling to get results. Once he changed it up we improved.
I think he's trying to have a go with his 'preferred' formation in the hopes that it will come good and it hasn't.
I don't mind him presisting with Balotelli, he was miles better once another striker was brought on. He needs a partner.
Start Coutinho and 2 strikers and I think our performances and results will be much better. The results are damaging confidence and it's becoming a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts.

I hope Studge gets fit soon and importantly stays fit, if he does have a bad season with injury then we really are going to struggle. I would like to think that we can bring Origi in if we really need to.

Ok I'm off fellas have a good evening, I wasn't on the wum as has been suggested but just putting my worst fears out there and seeing what others think.
I really hope Rodgers can turn it around and I don't think there's a lot wrong with the squad, fingers crossed we can string a couple of wins together and all the doubt goes away, we will certainly see over the coming weeks.

We are lacking confidence but at least we defended better today.
Obviously we are struggling a bit going forward too but it's silly to be talking about changing manager.
Brendan is a young manager who is going to get things wrong sometimes.
He has done enough in his short career to be given time to work through the tough periods.
We haven't lost much today in terms of league position and Hull got a point at Arsenal only a week ago and made Man City work hard for a win too.
There are no easy games and Newcastle next week is another tough one.
For me it's about staying close to the top 4 by the half way stage.
We will be better in the 2nd half of the season.

One thing that has to be improved drastically is the recruitment
Sturridge & Philippe apart, no one else could be said to be a success and Brendan has spent millions!
I see Alex Song playing for West Ham today and it's hard to understand why Brendan did not think the middle of the pitch needed strengthening. A loan deal, crazy not to with our lack of options

Brendon will come good, he just needs a chance. That's not to say we don't voice our frustration on this and other forums like sports yapper but I don't agree with dismissing him, especially not after the meterioc year we had last season.

apologies but I really hate this argument
every year an unexpected lower table side hits the ground running and EVERY club bar the top of the table could, in hindsight, say why didn't we buy the players they did instead of the players we did.
Song has been a crock a fair bit of his career and multiple clubs passed him on. Had we bought him there would have been moaning about no ambition and cast-offs and had our results not improved he'd be the scapegoat regardless of his performances.

So we have enough power & pace in the middle of the pitch?
We need someone in there and in terms of who was available he's as good as anyone
