Bolton 3-0 Cardiff

Bolton are without both Kevin McNaughton and Joe Mason against the pair's parent club Cardiff.

The former Sunderland forward has flown back to Trinidad after a family tragedy.

The one benefit of still being at work is that there is a Cardiff fan here.

Outstanding. Not played as well since the 4-1 hull game. Played as well 2nd half something that never happened under freedman which was often a good 1st half followed by a nightmare 2nd. Cravies was outstanding best game in a bolton shirt. Velas best game too want to see him in midfield when mcnaughton fit. Another plus was clayton looks promising. Not quite good enough to start yet but definitely got a potential majo asset on our hands there.

Agree with the last comments I can see on here, that was as complete a performance as I can remember in a good while. Defence dealt with almost everything and Lonergan the rest which for how we attacked was the icing on the cake today, not having to have kittens watching them throw the kitchen sink at us. Great to see Vela have a good game as well even out of position, although you'd never know it for me

I can't believe that I didn't want Neil Lennon at the club.

We just have to play as well on Friday and thrash the pie eaters.

Benny, nice to see you happy again.

Some thoughts:
Superb stuff - Who'd have thought playing a midfielder out of position at right back would work?

Defence looked solid enough and Matt Mills has curbed his massive aimless launch forward.

Suddenly all the players want the ball and want to do something with it. Sure sometimes Danns and Mavies were caught in possession being too casual but that can be sorted.

Mills' goal was the most magnificent miskick I've ever seen.

Referee was awful - massive bottler and took the soft option when it came to 50-50 challenges. - Morrision should've walked for kicking Pratley.

Watching Lennon on the touchline is very much fun to watch.

Jus watched highlights n from what i can gather from 3 minutes is, the catalyst to all.of this is chungy. Chungy in that hole is ideal. Comfortable in the ball, skillful, can see pass, full of endeavour. That allows possession to be retained further up the pitch. Keeps the pressure on, and takes pressure away from the other midfielders and subsequently the back four.

As i have said root of our problem has been in centre mid, not strikers, not centre halfs. Centre mid, we were terrivle at retaining the ball. Now we are much better. Coywm

I can't believe its been 5 years and 4 managers since we signed Chungy. He is finally starting to look like the player we signed before his injury again.
