Thoughts?

Firstly, are you seriously putting the 2014/15 squad up against the current one, and suggesting they are of equal balance and quality?

Secondly, are you seriously suggesting that in season 2014/15 our squad's standing was of similar level to the one Arteta is dealing with now?

Thirdly, how about the fact that in 2014 Wenger was into his 30th year of football management whereas Arteta is only just into his 2nd?

Lastly, in 2014, after 18 years of being Arsenal manager, not only was the team, but the entire club was in Wenger's image, whereas Arteta has had two transfer windows - both of which have been hampered by the financial hangover of Wenger's latter era signings.

In fact almost half the current side are Wenger era players.

So next time rather than trawling back through old articles trying to play the 'you should have all listened to me' card, perhaps think things through a bit more first, eh?

Or better still, find something a bit more creative to do with your time instead.

Last point is clueless also. Most managers in world football do their best work in first 3 seasons, nigh on impossible to maintain a good level for longer. We had a manager who kept us at a top level for 20 years. Instead of being thankful you morons brought banners and embarrassed the club. Now we are 15th with a third of season gone. Nice one 👍🏾

Cannot believe you are comparing a manager who, after 30 years management, had started to drag us down the league - which even you cannot deny as the truth - to a guy that is barely into his second year, and expecting an instant improvement when he's largely shackled by the contracts handed out by his predecessors.

I think people are hanging too much on "who signed Xhaka".
He was signed over 4 years ago so shouldn't be in the squad by now but and was given a contract extension after Wenger left.
Xhaka himself wanted to leave last season after the debacle with the fans but Arteta himself convinced him to stay.
Unlike most of our drosses, Xhaka is still an international player and captain of ths swiss team. And say whatever you want about him, I doubt he'd sit around and collect wages so if the club really wanted to rid of him, that wouldn't be an issue at all.
