the extended squad

if anyone wants to know how our boys out on loan got on last night,

Adam Smith played his part in one of the shocks of the night in the Carling Cup.

The full-back played the full 90 minutes as MK Dons of League One hammered Premier League Norwich City 4-0 in the second round at Carrow Road.

In only his third start for MK, Adam tested home keeper Declan Rudd and set-up a chance for Dean Bowditch as his side ran out comfortable winners.

It wasn't such good news elsewhere for our players on loan.

Kyle Naughton, on loan at Norwich, was rested for the MK match while Steven Caulker was on the bench as another Premier League side went crashing out, this time Swansea City at League Two Shrewsbury Town.

Bongani Khulamo played 90 minutes as Championship side Reading lost out 2-1 at League One Charlton.

Nathan Byrne also played a full shift for Bournemouth as Premier League West Brom run out 4-1 winners at Dean Court.

There was also good news for young striker Kudus Oyenuga, who made his debut for Bury and his first appearance in British professional football - having played on loan in Finland - as the Shakers pushed Leicester City all the way before losing out 4-2.
