Feel sick to my stomach. So young and so unlucky. People often quickly recover from even harder blows on the head. So unlucky that he was hit on a most vulnerable spot. Sad day for cricket.
RIP Phil

SAH from basilar artery rupture. He never really had a chance of recovery. Poor young man. Very sad. Feel sorry for his family and friends.

It would be very hard for his close friends like Warner and Clarke to carry on with series vs India as if nothing happened.

Doctors explain how freakish this injury was. The cricket ball hit the vertebral artery at the base of the brain and caused a dissection of the artery. Survival is very difficult.

Stayed up late at night to watch the entire broadcast of memorial service to Hughes. Very touching indeed.
