BJS and Eubank Jr ,I was impressed by both the guy's ,I had more enjoyment watching that 1 fight than practically the whole card last week ! Well done Billy Joe ,you can go on and make yourself a lot of money, just stay away from GGG. EubankJr, you have a great future in front of you if you take your time ,I think you will be World champ in the not too distant future ,a few more fights against decent opponents ,and you will be ready.
I must admit, I was not overly impressed with the referee in the fight, also some of the scorings by judges during the whole bill, was baffling. as for the commentators ,! ! ! what can I say ,do they think we are all imbeciles oh for good old Reg Gutteridge .
A good fight .

Eubank Jr seriously needs to be coached better. He was very one dimensional. He's got power and speed but no ring intelligence or combinations.
BJS proved what a good chin he has. Really hope he gets a world title shot next.

I think Eubank Jr has what it takes ,especially after last night ,he will have learned a lot from that .A bit of polishing up and a few more creditworthy opponents, and he will be there .

Guvnor I'm inclined to agree with you here.
When Eubank told his trainer to stop talking I was really taken aback. Eubank is extremely arrogant but not in a good way. He just seems to think that he deserves to be Champ because his Daddy was.
I also agree about Eubank looking very amateurish. His footwork was non existent at times and he just seemed to want to keep throwing bombs and uppercuts.
There was no jab and and very little to me to suggest that Eubank will be able to compete with the elite fighters unless he improves his all round game.

Guvnor , I can't disagree with you on your summation of Eubank Jr, but when you remember he went in with a very good top class opponent in BJS,,and took him to a split decision,he must get credit .
As for Eubank Sr ,surely he must realise that his son needs 6, months work in a top gym with a top trainer ,someone like Tony Sims for example, to polish up his undoubted ability .I've got a lot of time for his dad and just hope he can put aside his vanity for the sake of his son . I repeat, that defeat to BJS could well be the making of Eubank Jr, and I for one ,will be hoping that all those involved with him, his dad,Ronnie Davis and all ,give the guy a chance to develop. A rematch in a year or so ,would be worth waiting for ,and would make a lot of money !

Eubank Jr looked crude at times against BJS, who has great footwork, hand speed and shot selection.
There is a lot of work to do for Eubank in terms of refinement & work rate. I think telling Snr to fack off out of the corner during fights will help, along with respecting his coaches instructions between rounds.
Despite all this had Jnr upped the tempo 2 or 3 rounds earlier he could well have beaten BJS, perhaps by stoppage (he was buzzing him a few times in the closing rounds).
Very competitive fight, turned into a war.
In time I reckon both these two will be World Champs. Then a mega bucks unification rematch beckons!?!

His superior fitness and conditioning showed in the later rounds, which is why I thought he'd win. But his boxing was so bad early on that he left himself with too much to do, I think that showed how much of a step up it was for him.
Surprising from a guy that is supposed to be sharp and quick. He looked like a pub fighter for 7 rounds, surprised he didn't get completely gassed considering the wild shots he was missing.

A good article by Ben Dirs on BBC sport today ,says it all really .
