Telfer again

There was something in the interview when thomson said

"Today's judgement now sets a dangerous precedent that means some of our most promising young players will be deprived of the opportunity to secure a contract at a club where they have been offered a genuine first team opportunity and to improve their earnings purely because the compensation has been set at a ridiculously prohibitive level."

It is the bit about improving their earnings. Surely he didn't get offered more cash by Dundee Utd than by Rangers. Seemed to be suggested he was offered about 500 or 600 a week at Rangers when it said it was 7 times his contract offer.

In terms of the OP, I think the statement was talking generally rather than specifically about Telfer.

I'm pretty sure at the time it was stated that he had actually agreed to less money to come to United as he wanted first team football.
